I don't know about you guys but recently noticed GOG continued trend of slowly raising prices for many games the last couple of years when Steam instead haven't.

Take one example the game Stellaris. Just two months ago during sale at 75% it cost €9.99 now during the same 75% sale it suddenly cost €10.09. It's original price €39.99 still remained the same though. There even more examples where the price hikes are higher especially during sales.

Can someone please explain this?

My guess would be the value of currencies changing. Different prices for different regions, it probably adjusts to some golden standard.

I believe it was local price update, currency change etc.

What you see is most likely caused by currency exchange rates changing over time.

Sounds like the fair price package because it was removed around 2 months ago, haven't noticed much myself except a few price hikes here and there.

Or did it only affect GOG wallet, hmm can't quite seem to remember how it works, probably because my short term memory has gone to shit in recent years.

Well that's too bad. Other storefronts have it at the old sale price and i guess the DLC's also will be more expensive on GOG.

It's probably a combination of things, eg, currency movements can change things for the UK (something I've noticed myself), but looking at the "Best Prior Deals" tab in RWarehall's spreadsheet (link below), many discounts are also noticeably lower, eg, Pharoah & Zeus are only 49% vs 75-80% of previous years, Banished only 66% vs 75%, etc, so that side of things could be GOG offering lower discounts for recent financial reasons mentioned in other forum posts:-

Yes I've noticed it too. If i could buy their whole game library i would, I love GOG i really do but i am not rich either and i only buy games on sale.

You are taking up good examples. I'm glad i got a few good games on their old sales.
And discounts are falling :(

Our discounts are calculated base on the price in USD.

This should be the cause of it.

I didn't know that would be the cause of it. Our currency is going down especially compared to the US Dollar.

... and rounded up to the next .09 from what I've noticed for the last few years, I presume for marketing chocolatey goodness of the ending value of 9. :)
