Ok I am now at witts end. Ever since I closed gog down mid download for Witcher 3 patch 1.10 (I had to go so had to shut everything down) GOG no longer launches for me.

This is the funny thing - when I reinstall it gog comes up and is up and running straight away, but when I connect to GOG (log in to my account) it loggs in and then disappears - it minimizes to task bar and then disappears from taskbar also. If I click on GOG shortcut again nothing happens. In Task Manager I can see process is running but I can't see GOG itself. I've tried rebooting, I've tried reinstalling to different folders. Still nothing - can anyone please recommend what to do? It seems to be working if I am not logged into GOG but the moment I log in/connect it shuts down.

Before you attempt to log into Galaxy, see if you don't already have a Galaxy process running in the background. Look in your Task Manager before launching Galaxy :)

Yeah I did that. I even uninstalled it, rebooted my pc, downloaded fresh client and then installed it - and then ran the client, after logging in - it closed down.

OK so we eliminated that possibility then :) The best thing to do at this point would be to submit a bug report to our Mantis bugtracker along with your Galaxy logs so that our developers can investigate the problem :)

Let me know if you need any help navigating our bugtracker :)

Could you try reinstalling VC++ redistributables?
If that won't help, uninstall Galaxy, head to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\* and backup/delete redists and webcache folders, then try installing Galaxy again.

*usually C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy

I think I've resolved it I did 3 things

I did 2 commands in cmd sc delete GalaxyClientService and sc delete GalaxyCommunication ( it did not work earlier when I did just GalaxyClientService command) and then I went into ProgramData folder and deleted GoG.com folder - everything. After that GoG installed and it is running. I was able to reimport the games back into it and it seems to be running after logging in. I'll see how it is after I close it and I restart later on.

I just wanted to add that this has been extremely helpful. Apparently this remains a common issue for people, and this fix worked for myself and three of my friends. To clarify for anyone else who might be reading this thread, there can sometimes be multiple GoG.com folders installed in your C:\ drive if you've had any shortcuts. I had to ensure these were all gone before reinstalling.

Cheers!
