tfishell: Interesting. I've watched about half of it.
A question that came to mind is what is the hold-up with EA classics that shouldn't be hard to figure out, like other Maxis classics and Hi-Octane. Maybe those rights really are split or they'd be here by now.
Other Maxis Classics: Probably considered too niche, old, or ugly, Or are otherwise hard to get running due to 16-bit fun. Sim Tower does have actually complicated rights due to the creator Yoot Saito having only licenced his game
as SimTower. (This is seen later as it was released in the GBA era as "The Tower SP")
SimEarth is stunningly ugly in the IBM PC port and has a massive amount of supplemental material.
SimAnt is at least visually palatable but I don't see it holding much interest.
SimLife and SimFarm are boring and complicated.
Sim Isle wasn't actually developed by Maxis. A lot of people don't like it.
Sim Town is a half-cut version of SimCity 2000, but I suppose it has some interesting concepts.
Sim Park is boring edutainment.
Sim Golf, not to be confused with Sid Meier's SimGolf has so little information, and might have the "real things" problem.
As for SimChopper and Streets, those were already heck to get running back in the day, and I doubt the march of time has made any easier. That and they're both basically unfinished betas rushed to market.
