It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

OldFatGuy: No they are not. Most of them are so old they haven't had any "updates" in years. See screenshot and tell me which of those has had an actual update in the last, I dunno, five years?

eric5h5: I should have added "aside from DOS games". At least 95% of my game updates are actually updates. Occasionally there's a phantom blue dot with no explanation and seemingly nothing changed, but that's rare.
Yeah, I get that, and believe you. But 95% of my games are old. I do track the newer ones, especially if I've got them currently installed as opposed to just having the installer saved. But when you use the offline installers, during the install process a box shows ads for games to buy here. And when they change those up, even though absolutely nothing is changed to the game itself, it gets marked as updated (with the blue dot I forgot about lol). Also, many updates, again most especially regarding older games, are things that don't affect me, like support for additional languages is also another one I see often.

I used to go to the trouble of clicking on them to make the dot (and notice) go away, but with such a large library, it just got to be too much. I don't think I've bothered checking any of my older games in five years or longer.

FUN FACT: I purchased a game earlier as a gift, and just went to the store and picked the top selling one. I noticed it said recently, and never really noticed that before, but when you switch to top selling all time, it's... HOMM 3. I would've guessed it would have been one of CDP's like The Witcher series. But no, it's HOMM 3. For some reason that really shocked me. (Number 2 all time was Cyberpunk 2077 - so I guess that did alright despite a shaky beginning. I wonder if that's in terms of dollars (or euro's) or units.)

That's not so strange, since the Steam version of HoMM apparently doesn't include expansions, doesn't support mods, etc. People massively recommend the GOG version over the Steam version, which is not the case with CDRP games as they are the same on both platforms.
I took several minutes today to clear some of those blue dots, lol. Spent quite some time doing it as it's not instantaneous, the cursor spins a bit after you hit View Downloads. Long story short, several minutes and barely made a dent. Most of the time I didn't bother with looking at the changelog (most didn't even have one) but found this one and posted a screenshot to make my point. TBH, I didn't remember them marking a changelog when it was just the installer, but as you can see from the screenshot, maybe they do now?

With my old account I had to fix it every time I got a new card but they would by default restrict transactions to certain countries the US does not have the best relations with. Cyprus being one of them. Which is AIR where GOGs primary payment location.

Might have changed in the last say 3 years, but something like this might be what you are tripping on with your bank.

Yeah, I'm not sure that it was actually gog this time. When I tried it with the customer service rep on the line and it was declined, she said no attempt was received on their end, and thus they didn't decline it. So, I just assumed it the problem was on gog's end.

Later, I checked my email, and I had an email from BoA saying something about suspicious transactions or something and asking me if I had made a purchase. It was a purchase my son had made the day prior (I had given him my card to get gas for his car). Perhaps it was marked as suspicious because I've been bed bound since Sep 2020 and thus hadn't bought gas in years lol. I dunno, but when I clicked "yes" that it was a legit purchase, maybe that cleared it up and it's why I then was able to later purchase.

Sorry gog, my bad. I may have blamed you on this one when it wasn't you. But this has happened before and it was you, as evidenced by an email I got from you saying it was your "internal security" that had caused the issue before. That and the lady on the phone saying no attempt was made left me believing it had happened again. But I don't think it was gog this time. Sorry again gog.

ADDED: Hey, I just fiddled with some more, got tired of waiting for the spinning cursor to stop, and closed it. Yet it still cleared the blue dot. So maybe you don't have to wait. Just click and close, despite spinning cursor. That speeds things up quite a bit.

Yes, you don't have to wait. I just click and hit refresh that instant to clear the blue dot(s).

Yeah, and not only that, you don't have to technically close either, meaning you don't have to click the "X". Just click, move cursor anywhere outside of box, click again, move to next game, repeat. I did some serious speed blue dot removal, and now for the first time in years, NO BLUE DOTS. I didn't try refresh. Just click, move cursor slightly to the right, click again, move cursor over next game, click again....etc.

Once I got in a groove, it was super fast. Just click-move-click; click-move-click, etc. dispensed with all of them in less time than it took me to dispense with the first page only waiting for the cursor.
