I guess so.

Grargar: Um, Mafia wasn't developed by Rockstar. Even if it was, there was no such kind of DRM back in the day of its release.

tinyE: Oh yeah. Well I heard there is a patch for that race mission.
You don't need a patch - there's a cheat built into the game that makes the race a piece of cake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AILlsxt0M8

I just uninstalled it. :P
Is this about rare games we want to see on GOG? :)

Here are some games that GOG really needs to get:
Extreme Assault
Fire Fight
MissionForce: CyberStorm
Take No Prisoners
Urban Assault

Matewis: I'd love to give Mafia 1 another go. I remember I never had the patience to get past that one very early mission in the game in which the police pulled you over whenever you speeded or drove too recklessly.

InfraSuperman: So you were never able to experience the joys of the racing mission?
Ha! I ragequit over that mission so many times I lost count. But one day I saw an Ultra Race Controller (basically a round rubber "steering wheel" on a pad) thingie at the local Gamestop and after buying it I managed to win that race on my very next try! It was an analog wheel so not much good anymore, although I now have a USB "Ferrarri" gamepad/wheel that works pretty well these days.

Mafia 1 had great atmosphere. I loved just driving around in those old cars!
I don't understand why every time when 2K launch a new mafia game they just stop selling the predecessor ,they are missing to make more money haha

Curiously, according to this article, Mafia's director Daniel Vavra actually attributes the insane difficulty of that level to the fact that its designers all used steering wheel controllers for testing when they were making the game.
Asterix & Obelix XXL2
because it's a game that you can only play on windows xp now... gog could make it compatible with modern os
