LordCephy: Every game I played elsewhere days lasted 6-8 hours,
my name is catte: Wowee, that's really fast. More of a chatroom game than a forum game. :P
Joe just got back from the Mafia Universe championships and we thought the 72-hour days there were fast.
My time zone is Pacific (GMT-8) and if I'm in a game that includes at least one player in Europe, there really needs to be a 24-hour day/night cycle at the absolute minimum. The 6-8 hour cycle resulted in more than a few instances of people either not voting or not participating in night actions because of work or sleep. It's why I only played a total of three games.
JoeSapphire: So.... which of us was the one you referred to here:
You seriously are overthinking this. All I did was:
1. look at everyone's roles
2. saw that two roles were talking animals
3. saw that two people voted against said talking animals fairly quickly
4. flipped a coin to decide which I should vote for
That's all there was to this.
I really, really, really just wanted an excuse to flip a coin as Prof. Jones inventory for the entire duration of the game really is just a handful of coins.
The comment about how either of you could be acting like peasants shouting at Sir Bedevere was a reference to the witch scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2xlQaimsGg I'm obliged to make grail references at every opportunity.
An interesting fact about the game my character role is from is that when it comes to deciding which grail to pick as the true one, all the clues you need really are in the grail diary that came in the game box (or the PDF file for the GOG version.) You really can skip the parts of the game that would give you in-game clues. Stuff like this (along with the Civilization tech tree maps) is about the only thing that I actually miss with physical copies of games that came in boxes.
