My gut tells me he is, and I wouldn't vote him. This is solely based on how he acted with catte and his response to the whole thing. My track record is not always the best though in guessing this early on who is or who isn't scum so *shrugs*.

As for the rest of the people I will be honest and say my attention has been sidetracked by Wastelands 3 (highly recommend to anyone that is considering it) and not focused enough on the game to get a vibe yet.

Things are happening. And likely more will happen by the end of the day but the game does tend to pick up speed slowly. On GOG it usually livens up near the deadline.

It seemed like an odd thing to do. I'd expect 'push someone to get a reaction' but 'deliberately fake an argument' seemed more problematic than beneficial.
I wondered did he make up the argument explanation after the fact because he thought he pushed Catte too much?

But, no, when he explained about how an argument would get reactions from a bunch of people rather than just one. I guess it might make sense.

I read a sort of smugness into this - like a "now I've explained it to you can you really think I might be scum?"

I was thinking he probably was town after the explanation, and I was ready to concede that, yeah okay as always you are the t0wnist, but then I thought "WHAT IF this is the first mafia game where gogtrial is scum and I give him a town read at the first opportunity I will go down in history as a big ol' blockhead."

and THEN I had the idea that ScumGogtrial was giving me an oppotunity: "town or scum, dear Joe?" he asks seductively, but inside his brain he's hoping "don't let me down my bro. The solution is in your grasp!"


Well turns out he just wanted me to say a whole bunch of nonsense that is fairly incomprehensible to everyone but me.

In conclusion - at the risk of seeming like a big ol' blockhead I'm giving gogtrial a town lean. BUT I would like to think that he could do this as mafia. If he ever draws mafia.

Tired. Reading along. Things to respond to, but nothing urgent.

It's fine. Someone on the Kickstarter page for the Batman board game discarded a similar joke I made based on pretty similar reasoning. I suppose a lot people have trouble with such things so it's more likely a mistake was made than anything else. So no worries, but I'll likely keep trying!

It is one that, if read a certain way, sounds like crumbing....but then it could also be me reading meaning in a fluff post, like with Micro's alphabet post.

I still don't like the trent - gogtrial dynamic, and I do think that Joe's wagon had at least one scum (that wouldn't rule out Joe himself).

Still, I've yet to have any new ideas.

For me personally I have no issues with any of the wagons that happened. Only way we get any kind of info is to push people, and votes is a great way to do that. Day 1 is always the worst Day as we have no info that we don't generate ourselves, so anyone trying to generate such info is what's needed.

It looks like the votes are all over the place and the game is dragging some, and I honestly don't have much to add to what's going on. At the moment if I had to speculate we have 3 scum and I don't think they would have Day chat. I consider Day chat to be valued as at least another half player and that would be too much if we do have 3 scum, just my opinion.

That being said as of right now I don't have 3 people that I really suspect more than anyone else, if push came to shove I would lean toward nmillar as he is here but not here at the same time.

@gogtrial, someone mentioned you've only been scum once before. Is that true (I know you were during the last roulette but I'm mostly interested in normal mafia games)?

@dedo: does that matter? That's not how chance works. Someone is neither more nor less likely to be scum, just because he rarely was scum before. I know you didn't imply any such correlation. But since there is none: why ask?
