I realized this last year around this time and was reminded of it again but GOG really loves sales. This time last year we had the fall sale than I don't even think it was a week later we had the winter sale... and if my memory is correct just before the fall sale we had the insomnia sale.

Now I'm not complaining but that's quite a few sales. Has anyone else noticed this or is my memory just missing weeks at a time between sales for some reason?

They just really bunch up the sales, is all. If last year is anything to go by, this will be the last major sale promo until well into the new year.
Also, the only Insomnia sale since I signed up in July '14 was Double Insomnia this past spring. I believe the only major sales last fall were the Big Fall and Winter sales (there was a gap of about 8 days between them), and the Mutator promo in September or October. It just seems like a lot when there's two sales crammed closely together. "Sale Fatigue." =)
I'm pretty sure there was more than a week between the fall & winter sales. And if there was an insomnia before them, I missed it. :(

I hope there'll be a Christmas sale!

I don't think GOG really does holiday sales, just seasonal sales.
The reason for three sales basically in a row has to do with, I think it's generally agreed, GOG "bobbing and weaving" between Steam's sales.

It can be annoying because we don't really get any major releases during this time, but it's also meaningful so that the staff can focus on something other than getting games onto the store - patching, testing, etc. - especially the staff apparently being short-handed and at least 20 openings at GOG being available.

I just hope we can finally get some more games from "long-lost" AAA publishers already here.

I don't even count the "Only on GOG.com Sale" as a major sale -- more of a glorified weekend promo/staff picks hybrid (remember, we haven't even had an actual "Weekly Staff Picks" since the week before the Big Fall Sale began, and I don't think there's been a normal Weekend Promo since then, either).

And I'd be happy with any releases that I've actually heard of. =P
