Dear GOG,

lately you told me about a lot of updates you were doing to games in my library. Every week or so you were updating one or two or three of my games. Looking at the changelog I realized you were making the installers fit for El Capitán and that meant that disabling the System Integrity Protection feature is no longer required. I was always so glad about it...

Stop. No actually not. Not really. I was rather disappointed a bit each time because, not having a Mac (and many others do not have one too), I only got to know that nothing that was useful to me was updated.

GOG, surely you agree that this is unsatisfying and maybe we could do something about it.

Here is what I propose: Opt out of update notifications for a specific OS (Mac, Linux, Windows). Just subsribe only for those you want/need.

That would require you to kind of categorize the changelog messages (OS: W, M, L, ALL) and to rewrite part of your website code. Nothing really big however, I guess.

Given the track record I hope it can be implemented somewhere between 2016 and 2019.

Thanks for reading and any possible help in advance

Voted. It's annoying as hell to be spammed with update notifications that don't affect me in any way.

Same thing with languages by the way. I've seen plenty of updates which are specific to a certain localization only, typically correcting a certain translation. If it's any version but the English one, I'm not interested. I'm sure others feel the same way about their language of choice.

I'd be happy with no notifications at all option.
Can I opt out of multiple notifications for a single update? I only need one.

...aaannnddd here comes one more update for El Capitán

Dear GOG,
I really want to beat shit out of person who programs these El Capitán notifications.
Thank you.
And if you rewrite the code a little, could you also please add an option to manually dismiss updates, rather than have the flag be removed automatically when you click on the game in the library?

I'd like to be able to only read the changelog without losing the flag as a reminder. I might plan to download at a later date.
Voted. I'm sure it would only need little, they already have a script to opt out from updates (like when a wishlisted game is one sale).

You should just create a specific tag for it.

For every game please. All of my games are 100% finished being developed. They're all old. I shouldn't be getting any notifications at all. :|
I don't mind notifications at all. Nice to know that gog is trying to keep things up-to-date and working properly.

Now if it could just disappear once I've seen it, THAT would be great...

Plus one for the OP & plus one for the wishlist entry.

I'm tired of getting notifications about an OS I don't even have.
I find this a little funny and ironic, usually there's the "lack of notification" comments floating around, now that we're getting them you're complaining xD

On a more serious note, I think it would nice if we could filter the notifications by OS. I applaud GOG for their hard work on being patient and professional testing each of these games for Mac, that's something I very much respect.
