I too want Braid and Witness on GOG. Reading this old thread GOG added Little Inferno, World of Goo, and Kerbal Space Program.....but not Braid and no Witness in sight. Come on GOG step it up.

If you read the beginning of this thread, sure sounds like it's the dev who walked away from the negotiating table.
Braid is a decent game but it is definitely a little over hyped.
It almost sounds like the issue is that an acceptable price can't be negotiated.

Agreed. Picked it up during an indie bundle a few months ago. It's not a bad game. Found it to be a decent platformer. But maybe I came in expecting more.

I read the whole thread. I have no idea where you get that idea. It takes two to tango. GOG needs to step up and get this done.
Regardless if Braid is overrated or not, the game is still an important part of gaming history being part of the initial wave of break out indie successes. It is as important a game as any other game that is an influence on others.

Is it a price issue? Looking at Steam Braid is currently priced at $15 USD, surely that is not unreasonable even if GOG tends to prefer $10 games.

Could someone in GOG just not be a fan of Braid? Honestly I find this scenario more likely, GOG's storefront is curated and sometimes they are just not interested in a title.

Edit: Apparently Jonathan Blow doesn't like GOG's contract, that is the reason. Here are his tweets on the subject if anyone is curious: https://twitter.com/jonathan_blow/status/279312589819899904 & https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Blow/status/685322401320583170

Both of you apparently haven't read a thing. GoG tried, Jonathon Blow didn't like the contract and called GoG dicks on Twitter.
GoG approaches him again for The Witness. Mr. Blow again goes to Twitter to publicly deride GoG's contract as "predictably lame" and go on a rant that he is only going to negotiate with the stores "he needs to be on" and anyone else can bow to his demands or not get the game.

Clearly just GoG's fault, right?
How do you know who approached whom? As far as I'm aware, that's never been specified.

Why does it matter? Seriously, you keep trying to convince people how everything is GoG's fault. Get over yourself!

Does it really matter? Both games, GoG sent Mr. Blow a contract, hence they were interested. The first time, and presumably this time, no deal was reached, hence the two sides could not agree. We know from the Tweets, Jonathon Blow doesn't think GoG is important enough to haggle with...

There is proof from 2012, yet Barry, look at the title of this thread.

So Barry, quit lying to people. Quit making shit up. You are riling up people for nothing with your dishonest threads like this one.

You tell me, because you keep stressing that point to lay it on thick.

Do we? Here's his tweet from January 25th, after the tweets you're referring to:

DrearierSpider: "Any chance of getting it onto GOG at some point?"
Jonathan Blow: "Possibly .. we need to work out the legal details and I haven't had time due to just finishing the game."

For what it's worth, Humble Store seems to be offering a DRM-free version of Braid:

... and The Witness:

Funny how you leave out this gem, Barry...

An hour after he Tweeted
"I finally read the contract GoG sent me and it is predictably lame."

He then Tweeted in a series of Tweets...

"I only bother arguing with the few big channels that I really *need* to be on. The thing about this tactic is it usually ends the conversation -- I think it tends to be too weird for publisher peoples' egos to actually deal with a statement like that ... so then they just don't get the game. It is fine though, we will ensure there is a DRM-free download somewhere."

Quit distorting and lying to all these people on the forums. You are being quite dishonest....
How did I leave that out? You're bringing up those tweets, not me. Again, the tweet I quoted [https://twitter.com/Jonathan_Blow/status/691740304936816640] was weeks later and indicates that he's still considering a GOG release.

Because you keep cherry picking his Tweets to only include certain ones. Just like the dishonest title of this thread long after it was well-known that GoG negotiated with Blow and he called them "dicks" on Twitter.

But you still title the thread, "GoG isn't interested"

And you knew damn well these other Tweets existed.

Quit riling people up over your lies. And lies of omission are still lies.
And if you don't see the irony in that Jonathon Blow is claiming he hasn't had time to deal with GoG but found time to release his game DRM-free on Humble after those earlier Tweets, you are dumb as a brick...
