Maxvorstadt: Well, it`s 18:00 GT now, and nothing happend. So the teasing was for the Pre Order of Full Throttle. Meh.

Well, they said that it happens on GoG, not on Twitch. And there`s also no announcement here for something twitchy.

anothername: FT is awesome. Ppl are not hating FT or its pre-order announcement. They a disapointed that gog (apparently) beat the drums for a pre-order; one ppl would expect to be here anyway.

I just looked up overhype in the dictionary and was redirected here. Ft isn't a bad game of course, but is there going to be anything really interesting this year? Its just been extremely meh so far this year, even the pitiful weekly only suffices to annoy my email.

Frankly I'm surprised people are so disappointed; it seemed pretty obvious to me, based on the design, that it was Full Throttle-related.

I know you're just speaking for yourself, but I have to personally disagree because we've gotten Ignition, SWAT 4, Tachyon The Fringe, Emperor ROTMK, various Sierra adventure games, and more.

To be blunt, I get the sense that many people will continue to be disappointed as the years go by, because the catalog of possible classics will continue to shrink and shrink. Anything short of NOLF will make people rend their garments. ;)

Well, from my point of view, GoG made a shot in the oven with this announcement.
Not only that they announced the wrong time, they also announced a pre order, and this is way to overhyped for me.

I cannot speak for others but Tuesdays and Thursdays have been release days for quite some time on GOG. Last Thursday there was no release because of the sale. Today no release because of it might take the attention of the Full Throttle pre-order. Don't get me wrong - Full Throttle is a good game (although very short). But hyping up for a pre-order and skipping a regular release :(

I think Thursday has become pretty well solidified as the "single classic release day" the past few years (sometimes other days have multiple classic releases), but really, any day is viable for new/indie titles. We know we're getting the Turok 2 remake this Thursday, and tomorrow there could be a new or indie release.

Yup, could just be me, but I have been totally underwhelmed so far. I think 1 game has hit my wish list - torment. Other than that nothing, these weekly sales are ridiculous, does anyone actually bother with them? Even the recent actual sale seemed a bit meh. Oh well, my backlog is enough for several lifetimes and am learning godot so that will keep me.
