Is GOG terrible? Probably. But it's still better than steam, at least in the regard that it does not require a stupid third party online game client that annoys you with non-stop verification (talk about login security) or simply wastes space on your pc! Also on gog you can just download offline installers, install games offline and play them offline no questions asked, unlike some other game sites!
