amok: Hover the mouse over your icon / username --> select "Order and Settings" --> click on "Subscriptions". In here, untick "Never miss the best deals [...]".
You have now withdrawn your consent for gOg to email you their deals, if this is on then gOg have your consent. If you want to have one some types of emails, there is options for that here as well.
Thank you
amok for your reply
That was my immediate & effective "solution" since yesterday
& the reason why I decided to post on this thread
"GOG, if you want to attract new customers.", you know :)
If you are interested on why its anything but a "solution" to my eyes,
I invite you to read the rest of this post where I answer to
neumi5694 ------------------------------
Thank you
neumi5694 for your reply
-About
neumi5694: You also didn't give a consent for jump and runs or 3D games in general, did you? What about strategy games? Did you give your consent to these?
Not sure what logic you are applying & how relates to my complain
You might want to explain your case better
-About
neumi5694: Neither the mails, the banner, nor the store page show any nudity, not even after going after the disclaimer page.
And most games need an uncensor patch to do so.
True, except the uncensor patch thing because I don't know :)
Let me repeat myself:
What pisses me off is gog invading my space with NSFW stuff without my consent
-About
neumi5694: Btw, why don't you set up a email filter that puts all emails containing "adult" or "nsfw" into spam?
Then somehow you agree with me they are sending SPAM. Nice! :)
On the other hand: SO, are you suggesting me to limit myself
on my own space to let this store to keep doing their sh*t on my inbox?
I hope you notice it & suggest something more empathic
to this fellow customer as you
But keeping your line of thought for a little more**:
Things like: gog deals never acknowledged
& the opportunity to miss important emails (not only from gog but from anyone!)
just because they have the word "adult"... Are real risks
And hell... lets be drastic: Why don't unsubscribe?
Do you notice the ramifications all those "solutions/workarounds" create?
And just as a foot note - Please dont overlook a relevant thing in jeopardy here:
Emails are not used just for receiving e-commerce deals messages,
but by a really st*pid reason alien to me or yours,
it has been "intrinsically"(?!) declared as identification online
I mention it because you might suggest another "workaround":
Provide a dumpster email address (like I do with trashy websites
where I dont own anything)
That way, I could receive there all this SPAM without any screaming, right?
Yeah... BUT what about the id part?
Would you ask me to jeopardize myself again?
This time with things like my ownership/access/payments related to this store...
Or would you suggest I fully stop purchasing here to not have anything to lose? :)
I hope this lengthy post helps you to provide a better idea
of my perspective on this situation
Can it be trivialized? Of course! But it doesnt change its importance
**=Sure, I'm playing with your exact words
"filter that puts all emails containing "adult" or "nsfw" into spam"
We both know it can be perfected to
"GOG emails only" instead of "all emails"
and
"and" instead of "or" :)
But my observations would prevail
Therefore, those are not solutions,
but workarounds in the best case scenario...

Ice_Mage: I haven't received that newsletter yet (latest I got was Crab Day sale)
Check your spam folder then :)
Maybe your email provider has better spam rules than mine
Which I couldnt fully celebrate:
Somehow you missed information. Sure, this time it was junk,
but next time, who knows... :S
And I'm sorry for the potential clogg of your thread
with this 2 lengthy posts of mine
Please let me know if I need to simplify them
in pursuit of order & a digestible readability to the whole forum
considering the members have provided very detailed info
making your valuable topic idea greater
And thanks as usual! To you & to all the contributors!
