Voting is now open! Please let me know if there are any problems with the links or the voting system.

Due to technical limitations, I had to split the list into two separate links. Since I can't prevent someone from voting 5 games in part 1 and 5 in part 2, technically you can vote for up to 10 games in total in a category, but in any case only the 5 games with the most votes by combining the two parts of the polls will pass selection.

You have one week to vote, until midnight on February 16, 2025!
I haven't played a lot of the games on the list (usually I'm a few years behind). So my votes went to the few ones I've actually played and enjoyed:

1. Tails of Iron
2. Cats Love Boxes
3. Slay the Princess
My Top-10 :

1. God of War
2. Outcast - A New Beginning
3. Drova - Forsaken Kin
4. RoboCop: Rogue City
5. The Sinking City
6. Shadows of Doubt
7. Iron Meat
8. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft
9. Resident Evil 1-3
10. Fallout: London

Is the list supposed to repeat for each category?
Because it looks like each link has the same (or almost the same) list of games... I'm not sure if #DRIVE Rally ought to be under "Boomer Shooters"
If I understand correctly, it is primarily a technical issue: to simplify the process of preparing the vote, each category is assigned a list of all games (two complementary lists, to be precise). It is assumed that voters will choose games that fit a given category, and not blindly choose random titles.
In addition, there is also a substantive justification: it allows the voter to decide by himself whether a specific game belongs or does not belong to a given category. We know, that boundaries of categorizing games are fluid, e.g. Songs of Conquest is undoubtedly a strategy game, although at the same time some may consider it an RPG.

Exactly, you explained it very well.

Besides the fact that preparing separate lists would have been very time-consuming, it risked excluding some games that are on the edge of a genre. That way there is much more freedom to vote, and if something is blatantly out of place it will still receive few votes or can be excluded later.

The Royal Category Best RPG Game

In this category we have some very interesting and varied proposals that caught my attention:

Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms with mixed, if not restrained, opinions
Alpha Protocol evergreen classic!
Fallout: London nice conversion mod for Fallout 4 GOTY
SKALD: Against the Black Priory charming pixel challenge
Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy in dev by AtomTeam, makers of Atom RPG
Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord Wizardry nostalgia in a 3D new engine

for me the most valuable and promising new entry is definitely Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy

Looking at StrawPoll... I see some titles that are "Early Access" and not actually released in the list. Probably best they weren't included and were actually included at actual release. Too late now, I guess. (Poor Endzone 2.)

I've just voted for the following 5 games in the GOG GOTY 2024 category :)

#DRIVE Rally
Hands of Necromancy II
Legacy of Kain™ Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered
Phantom Fury
WRATH: Aeon of Ruin

I limited my votes to games I already own (exception is Soul Reaver, because I own legacy versions only)

Category Best Good Old Game

It's quite easy to pick favorites in this category:

Alpha Protocol
METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3

though making the final choice is very hard...
My top 5 of 2024 in GoG Goty and other categories:

1. Drova - Forsaken Kin
2. Songs of Conquest
3. God of War
4. LEGO - Lord of the Rings
5. Riven

Btw. why Songs of Conquest is not in the best indie game list? :o

You can find it in the second link, as I wrote I had to break the list into two parts because the site didn't allow too many options in the poll. Not a perfect solution, but the only one possible.

We're halfway through the week and I see many confirmations and a few surprises among the top rated games, we'll see who will come out on top!
Category Best Indie

Probably the most diverse, unpredictable and surprising of all categories; and actually everyone can choose something different, and it will be a good, justified choice... so which productions - behind which there is not a large or even medium budget and staff, but only the creativity, courage and enthusiasm of the creators - attracted my attention in 2024:

Between Horizons from DigiTales Interactive
INDIKA from Odd Meter
Plague: London 1665 from WASD Games
SKALD: Against the Black Priory from High North Studios AS
Starcom: Unknown Space from Wx3 Labs

each of them is unique, incomparable to others; however, INDIKA stands out due to the boldness of the topic and the originality of its presentation
I really would have wished for a possibility to actively engage in this important addition to the good old gamers forum, sadly both time and taste prevented me from developing any sort of long time engagement with a 2024 GoG (but also pc gaming worldwide) release list.

Therefore i decided to do the next best thing which is an oversight of most played titles(that are also available on GoG)

In no particular order

Shadow Empire
Cyberpunk 2077
Distant Worlds 2
Age of Wonders Planet fall

i bet in advance that with the appearance of some awaited 'Hooded Hors'e Space Opera, or not to mention the eagerly expected arrival of 'Tides of Annihilation' my continuing presence in future GOTY post are garantueed!
