Hello guys, I was using this app recently on Windows 10, I had to reformat my pc to windows 7 recently, being literally yesterday. I went to install steam and battle.net and all the other apps I use. I went to install gog Galaxy and I was given a prompt telling me I needed to have Windows 7 SP1 installed in order to continue with the install. The thing is it is installed, and no matter what I cannot get the Galaxy installer to run past that prompt. I've uninstalled SP1 and I've reinstalled, I've restarted the PC several times. And at every point I run the installer it prompts me with "You must have Windows 7 SP1 Installed in order to run this installer" So I'm at my wits end with this, any help would be appreciated.

I've attached 2 pictures that show the problem.

Thanks

Put a support ticket in, and check out the Galaxy help page:
https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/categories/201553025

Do note that you do not need Galaxy in order to play your games, just download them via the web browser, and then run the exe with all the files in one directory.

Have you tried clicking the Install Windows Update button? The update should recognise that it is already installed, and so finish, but Galaxy will see that the update just finished, and continue. I'm not sure if that is how it works, but could be.

That does not work, I did on the other hand install an old version of gog Galaxy and got it running - and thought it had all worked out only then did it ask me to go back to the Galaxy site to download the new updated version. So it installs np on old version, but on the newest version available on the site the installer wont go past the "You need Windows 7 SP1".

Weird, it should just auto update on launch! Like nightcraw1er.488 suggests, I think a support ticket is what you should do.

In the mean time, you can download and install your games through your browser, and I'm pretty sure Galaxy will recognise them once you have got it working. Go to settings --> Import game folder (or something like that) --> Browse to location to import a GOG game to Galaxy.
You could try Ccleaner from Piriform. Run the registry cleaner part a couple of times. Doing this has a decent chance to fix the problem.
