Much to my regret, I decided to trust the Galaxy launcher, been playing and finally came close to finishing Arcanum...tried to launch today and instead of the play button, was an install option...? The EXE in file explorer is gone and the "install/update" refuses to finish.

Am I screwed? Was playing the patched version. What the ever loving F?

If all else fails you can download the installer from this site and manually reinstall the game. Hopefully your save games will be elsewhere and unaffected.

Check your anti-virus. Sounds more like it deleted it. You can reinstall the game. That should work. Go into your favorite Uninstaller (I use Geek Uninstaller, but control panel, programs and features will suffice) and uninstall the game (DO NOT DELETE YOUR SAVES). Close Galaxy, and close it from the system tray. Reboot your PC. Boot up Galaxy and install the game.

Antiviruses usually put files in quarantine, so that exacutable could even be restorable.
Btw, he'll need to add it to exceptions.

A Windows update can also be the culprit but anti-virus sounds most likely.
