It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I specified not to launch on startup, it ignored my choice. I specified to close on X instead of minimize, it ignored my choice. It began auto-updating without permission or way to cancel the download on a highly restricted data cap connection. I uninstalled.
Okay? I've got it with all of that set and it works fine for me. I also got a small data cap.
Thanks for letting us know!
Ok.
Thanks for keeping us posted, I guess.

To answer you seriously though, this sounds like something you should take up with support, not the forum.

If you had disconnected your internet it would simply start after an error.
I use my GOG galaxy in that way.
You could have posted your concerns regarding Galaxy here:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_galaxy_beta_2

Haven't seen it not remembering your choices though. Have you tried closing Galaxy entirely before setting its preferences? Some programs will forget its settings after they're crashed or whatever.
GOG Galaxy Beta = not installed

I haven't experienced any of that outright. I did experience some problems with my preferences getting overwritten on updates of the client such as it blindly changing the installation and download directories I had previously configured, and ignoring my updates choices and turning updates on once though. That's the nature of incomplete beta software that is in deep development, there will be bugs and there will be features that do not work properly.

Nobody should use Galaxy without first accepting the fact that features will be buggy, options may or may not work (or may not even exist), and that the software will contain flaws and may not work properly. It's not a stable finished product yet.

Once it is completed and released as "stable" if these things happen, then that would be rather worrisome. For now though it is by definition what "beta software" means, and you're certainly right to uninstall it for now if that does not serve your purpose or expectations. I've uninstalled it myself several times over usability problems or similar that were not workable, waited a few weeks or longer, got the new version and tried again until I got something I could manage to use to some degree and properly test. It still has many problems but it is usable to a degree with limitations and without big expectations for now.

You should call that dog 'shithead'.

Oh, crap, that reminds me... I just got a glass of wine and I forgot my little umbrella.

Sounds like a typical bastard.

Not encouraging that basic functionality in Galaxy can still be that broken.
