One problem comes with certain DOS games,such as Alone in the Dark 1, MAX 1 and Dungeon Hack, and possibly others.

The problem is always the same: when clicking "PLAY" on GOG Galaxy, DOSBox boots and then closes. With Dungeon Hack, I simply start it up manually through the included DOSBox executable. But with Alone in the Dark 1, this doesn't seem to work.

Now, this problem doesn't affect some DOS games, as Bloodnet (CD Version) and Duke Nukem 1 (among others) boot just fine.

My next problem comes from trying to run King's Bounty: Crossworlds GOTY. Each time the error sound plays, then I have to Alt-Tab out of the black screen and find an error message about an "Error in sounds.csv" which states "File not found: intro_speech.ogg". I click okay and another box with some stuff saying that the program has crash popped up. The most recent box says something like:

~~~~~
The application has crashed. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
~~~~~

Call stack functions:

0001:00232AD1 C:\GOG Games\King's Bounty Crossworlds GOTY\kb.EXE
0001:000BED4C C:\GOG Games\King's Bounty Crossworlds GOTY\kb.EXE
0001:0000AF1C C:\GOG Games\King's Bounty Crossworlds GOTY\kb.EXE
0001:0029C914 C:\GOG Games\King's Bounty Crossworlds GOTY\kb.EXE
0001:00004360 C:\GOG Games\King's Bounty Crossworlds GOTY\kb.EXE

0002:001C0494 C:\GOG Games\King's Bounty Crossworlds GOTY\kb.EXE

003:0032A1C4 C:\GOG Games\King's Bounty Crossworlds GOTY\kb.EXE
~~~~~
Then there's Dark Reign, which crashes after starting up and closes explorer.exe in the process. When it crashes a box pops up and says:
~~~~~
Error: Failed attempt to launch program or document:
Action: <\DKREIGN.EXE>
Params: <>

Specifically: The system cannot find the file specified.

Line#
---> 010: Run, "%InstallDir%\DKREIGN.EXE",,,NewPID

The current thread will exit.

Most of these problems I believe do not occur when installed without GOG Galaxy, which is how I installed GOG.com games before GOG Galaxy. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the programs and nothing. I've tried verifying the installation and nothing.

If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. And if you need more info let me know.

I'd post this in the GOG Galaxy beta thread. You'd be more likely to get response from someone knowledgeable about Galaxy issues, be it a staff member like Venom or just a Galaxy user.
Thanks. Copy-pasta'd over to the link you provided.
