I dislike it that this will my first post here but all I can say is:

GOG Galaxy is a piece garbage and GOG should be ashamed of themselves.
I would love the ability to tell Galaxy "Ignore this update, I am never going to install it". Normally I keep all my games up-to-date (which is really the only reason I use Galaxy). However a few games recently have added "new" versions which take away functionality that I use and replaced it with functionality I don't.

Specifically, I'm referring to Blitzkrieg, which removed LAN play in favor of Steam cross-play. I don't use Steam and don't have any friends which use Steam, but I do occasionally use LAN play, so I don't want to install this update. However, if I don't install, I will have that blue dot next to my game forever, which offends my OCD (and makes it annoying when I scan through the client looking to see if any of my games need actual updates.

I want to just to Galaxy to ignore those updates forever, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that (unless I'm completely missing something). The only way I've been able to get it to stop bothering me is to save the entire directory tree, install the update, and then copy the entire directory tree over.

Zaragon: ...
In the gamecard of the game choose More ->Settings and untick Automatically update. You can normally then go back to anearlier version in most games, too.
Yep, I can stop it from updating--I've had auto-updates off since the minute I first installed Galaxy. What I can't stop it from doing is flashing the little blue light at me when there's an update available that I don't want.

The problem isn't that it's updating by itself. The problem is that blue dot. It mocks me. It haunts my dreams. And nothing but updating to the version I don't want will make it go away. I want to be able to banish a specific update from the list, ne'er to return.

Or at least tell Galaxy not to bother me about it again until a new update comes out. I'd settle for that, at least.
GOG Galaxy Feature Request:

It's nice that you give us the option to turn automatic updates off, so thank you for that. It would also be nice if we could turn the update notification indicator off for individual titles as well.

Thanks for considering it,
Hey,

we have released a new update for GOG Galaxy, 1.2.51.

It contains a small fix for Galaxy SDK related to notifications when playing a game.
Hi,

I'm apparently one of those idiots that run their Windows with a user without admin rights. Every time there's an update I get between 5-7 password requests to run a script.

Can this be done with just one time?

When I installed Pillars of Eternity 2 I got password requests for all the distributables, and then like 10 requests for scripts from GOG. Pillars2 updates today and I got 5 requests. I added a free DLC and I got 7 password requests.

My installation is not in Program Files, so why is this happening?

Thanks.
I have an issue that happens sometime and that was already present even in the past versions, and I'm pretty sure that acts always in the same way:

the thumbnails of "Duke Nukem - Manhattan Project", "Balls of Steel" and "Duke Nukem 3D" always disappears from my list of installed games...

If I click on them, the thumbnail is reloaded and stays there for some days... but at some point I open Galaxy, and those 3 thumbnails are disappeared...

No other game has this issue... seems like Galaxy doesn't like the Duke ?! O_o

Sorry, but I had to chuckle at the last line. XD
No, Galaxy doesn't hate specific games.

I get the same glitch every now and then with random games.
I wouldn't go as far as to call it an issue as nothing suffers performance-wise, plus the thumbnails always reappear after I click on them. :)

We're aware of the issue, and it will be definitely resolved in future versions of GOG Galaxy. I cannot tell any release date yet, unfortunately.

It should be maximum one admin password request when you update GOG Galaxy (which we want to get rid of completely), but I'm not aware of multiple password requests when updating a game, or adding DLC.

File a mantis.gog.com report with your logs - pretty please. :) Your logs are important here. Thank you for very precise description - you can just copy your post to mantis, add logs and title "multiple admin password requests when updating game". :)

Why captcha is needed to redeem a key from GOG galaxy.?
An utter piece of garbage since the last update.

I've just spent over an hour having to turn my computer back to a prior restore point after GOG Galaxy froze mid update and screwed up my entire computer.

Then I just tried to reinstall it after having to delete it, and it's frozen again. Utter utter garbage.

So now I get to download the GOG Downloader to install games I just bought because Galaxy is completely unusable.

Honestly, feeling less and less like buying games on GOG these days -- the site is slower than Christmas since the new site design (takes FOREVER to load the front page) and now Galaxy is a piece of junk.

Sad to see GOG going downhill, but it's seemed to be nothing but for the last year or two.

It's a way of protecting your redeem key to be bruteforced by someone else and sold on some phishy page.

How come GOG Galaxy froze your system update? Seems unlikely to me. Or was it game update?
We're aware of website loading issues, especially on winter promo, and how they affect Galaxy. It might cause freezes on startup, or when reloading store, but they shouldn't be too long. Total freeze we're not aware of. If you care to put logs of those freezes on mantis.gog.com , I'd be grateful.

FulVal: SiN Gold has the same problem
It doesn't depend on a game, it can happen to any of sidebar images. :(
