I have searched this forum and tried many soloutions to my problem and none work
I am trying to run the client on Win7 SP1, as stated I have tried every soloution I have found here, C++ redist, compatability, uninst and reinst etc. Nothing works it tries to run then nothing, however it is running in Task Manager thats it.
Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Galaxy doesn't support Windows 7 anymore.

I don't really feel like spending an hour coming up with a solution, most people don't bother even saying thank you.

Some stuff that might help.

Should be able to grab an offline installer of an older version, and then delete the galaxyupdater.exe.

Galaxy may not support 7 anymore but staff have confirmed that there is a fix for this issue coming nonetheless. There is a temporary workaround that a developer released. However, they also stated that there will come a day when Galaxy will not run on 7 and they won't be able to fix it, sadly.

Thankfully galaxy is mostly optional, so you can use the offline installers. These are files which you can keep, backup etc. The drm free way! Anaphalctic shock warning, even offline installers contain traces of galaxy…
Thanks for the replies, it worked fine on my old HDD that is Win7, its refusing to work on my new install on SSD. I guess I will just clone the HDD to the SSD, which I was trying to avoid.

I have attempted this, but sadly the downloads are always corrupt when I try to install them and cant verify them without the GOG client, it's a catch 22 situation.

Try to create exceptions for your antivirus and/or firewall for the new routes. Probably the change of HD interferes with the admin rights, antivirus, firewalls and all that shit because the new install routes. New hardware after all.

I think you misunderstand me. What I mean is a) delete the galaxy completely and remove all its files. Then go to the website, select your library and game. Expand the offline installers section lower down. You will now see at minimum 1 link to download and offline installer file, which will be an exe (windows). You may also see some bin files, you need all the exe and bin files in one directory on your machine, so download them all. When your browser says they have all downloaded, run the exe to install the game. I.e. no need for galaxy, installed or elsewhere to verify anything, it’s simply and installer.
And if your download fails, then you have an internet issue.
