Try the DRM-free online gaming platform.

<span class="bold">GOG Galaxy</span>: our truly gamer-friendly, DRM-free online gaming platform. As we shared our vision with the world, we promised auto-patching, social functionality like chat, friends lists, and achievements. We promised our own multiplayer support and cross-play with Steam. Most importantly, we promised truly optional.

Today we deliver.
The <span class="bold">GOG Galaxy</span> client enters beta, open to anyone, with the most important functionality ready to try, test, enjoy (and break) at your leisure. We're proud to have gotten this far, and we know that we couldn't have done it without you all - that's everyone who spent months in alpha testing, that's those of you who talked to us about your needs and expectations, and it's every single one of you that has supported us since ever. So thanks, GOG Galaxy is for you!

With the <span class="bold">GOG Galaxy Beta</span>, you can install your games in one click and keep them up to date automatically, the beta currently supports this feature in all but a couple of titles available here. You can also perform backups easily by downloading a standalone installer through GOG Galaxy. The beta features a friends list, game time tracking, achievements, and chat. You can now talk to each other, connect with your group of friends, and see what everyone is playing. You can also try out our online multiplayer & matchmaking solution that, in select titles, includes cross-play: platform-independent multiplayer between gamers on GOG.com and Steam. If you download a patch that breaks something or if you just change your mind, the app will soon feature a unique rollback option to restore a previous version of your game.

Best of all, GOG Galaxy is optional. If you don't want to use any additional software, your experience with us won't change at all. If you only want to take advantage of select conveniences, you can toggle them on and off. It's all totally up to you.

You can sign up for the <span class="bold">GOG Galaxy Beta</span> and find out more on <span class="bold">gog.com/galaxy</span>, where we tell you about the features and answer many of the questions you may have. We'll be watching the forums carefully, so feel free to leave a comment if there is anything else that you'd like to know!

sinder87: I just hope they start some sorta public chat system or group system thing-a-ma-jig into GoG Galaxy so adding people doesn't have to be done just through forums and stuff. Also a search tool would help
that is what I am thinking as I wanted to add my steam friends but instead we just blindly add gog friends and know nothing about them, its not been that type of community in the past, so a profile page of users would be usefull...

Or as I said, groups. They are going to add profiles at some point, but I think the sooner they incorporate a search feature it will be better so we can, ya know, get our steam friends and people we know all added and stuff.
I received a key for GOG Galaxy Alpha few days ago and when I used it I have opportunity to install GOG Galaxy Beta.

My first impression is very positive.
Function "Scan and import folders" recognized only 4 of 11 installed games. Probably because most of them were installed with older installer.
When I choose "Install from Library" and "Import folder" all of my games were installed correctly.
Meanwhile for some of the games automatically were installed the last updates.
I like also that I can use almost all functions of the site gog.com.

What I want to see:
- Currently "Auto-Updating" is enabled by default for all games and to switch to "Disabled (Notify)" I have to change this option for every installed game one by one. I would like to have in General settings this options: "Auto-updating enabled", "Auto-updating disabled" and "Auto-updating manual". When it is set to "Auto-updating manual" - valid is individual selection for every game and on other cases general selection has priority over individual selections.
- Also I would like to have option to clear the list with latest actions (updates, installs etc.).

That's all for now.

Good job, GOG!

Yup agree.

With search function ;)
Unbelievable!! Why does it still want to start automatically when Windows starts!! First, that option should be opt-in, not opt-out and secondly, not change to default setting everytime I restart the application.

You can disable automatically start with Windows from "General settings".
Posting so people can add me.
The friend system seems a bit buggy too.

If you get added you'll get a "1" notification on the site but it wont lead you to anywhere. You have to go on Gog Galaxy to see who added you or anything.

They still gotta implement stuff on the site to work with GG. I'm not gonna harp on it since the thing was basically just released, but just pointing it out. :P

I know but it reverts itself to default setting, like it doesn't save the setting.

I also noticed that I added one folder that I have GOG games installed and Galaxy doesn't detect a single one. Seriously? I'm not allowed to have a custom path? It should search the EXEs plus a GOG file to find it, I find rather poorly implemented if it's location based.
