Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Anyone else getting "Installation broken" for Saints Row 2, it was fine before the latest update to Galaxy... don't really want to download it again just to end up with the same thing. The files have not changed, so I'm not sure why it's broken now. :/

Verify/Repair does not work.

EDIT: Yep appears to be a Galaxy issue, will report on mantis...

altechi: Is Galaxy supposed to tell me if I unlocked an achievement via a popup or something?, because it doesn't for me, though when I look at Galaxy it shows that I did unlock an achievement
avatar
skeletonbow: Not at the moment, although it probably will when they implement overlay functionality. We'll likely get achievement and other notifications, screenshot functionality, in-game chat overlay and other features near the same time I imagine but that's probably weeks/months away I'm guessing.

eliano55: "an error occured during singing in"

I cant connect my client to my GOG.com account.

I have enabled goggalaxy client every connection, ignoring any firewalls etc.

Please help me with this problem.
avatar
skeletonbow: Ah, you're not supposed to sing while running Galaxy, the authentication algorithm doesn't yet support singing as an input method. We need to wait for them to add microphone support first.

:)

IDeivis: I know there are things about which you CAN'T / WON'T / SHOULDN'T talk. but is there really nothing you could tell us about Galaxy progress so far? Like when should we expect new major build?
ATM It looks like 2-3 of you have scheduled weekly visit on this topic and you just answer 1 minor problem/"silly" question each and then you are gone for another week. :(
avatar
skeletonbow: In general we shouldn't expect a build (major or minor) until they've got one they think is worth providing to us. This is most efficiently done using the "when it's ready" algorithm. Developers can't always predict how long it takes to implement a given feature/functionality even if they try to do so, so specifying a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly schedule ties them down to specifc dates and times at which point things either aren't done in time and get rushed in extra-buggy to meet a schedule, cut out until the next release window due to being incomplete and not ready for release, etc.

Users might want to know when to expect a new release but quite honestly doing such just either lowers the quality of the releases and/or puts more pressure on developers to meet commitments they've made no matter how loose they've worded the schedule. The best release schedule you can have as a developer is "whenver I finish coding it, whatever day that is, that's the day it will be released on". That is of course not what users want, but it is generally what is best for developers to be productive and best for a product in my personal experience as a developer.

Unnecessary deadlines and other forms of date/time related commitments _suck_, and ultimately lead to rushed and more problematic products IMHO.

Throwing my +1 vote for "no release dates please, just work hard and keep up the good work, we'll get it when you're ready to release it".

skeletonbow: I'm going to investigate if <span class="bold">MaGog</span> can somehow list all of my games in order of game size smallest to largest
avatar
mrkgnao: Of course it can. It can also sort them by release date (from oldest to newest).
I got it to sort the entire GOG catalogue by file size but didn't see a way to filter it to just games I own, is there a way to garnish that info somehow while logged in? I assume it'd need a browser extension or GOG account public sharing of games list or similar.
My GOG Galaxy window is all grey, is there a fix for that? Already tried the sugestion on the support page.

Use the "Get From GOG" feature (rightmost big orange button). Don't need anything special except being logged in to GOG.

Most insightful post... ever. >.>
I'm sure this has already been brought up but I thought I'd just chip in with this too. Galaxy seems to use a shitload of memory for no apparent reason. The two elements that make it up are using almost 7 times that of Steam. They were both opened at the same time, neither has been used to load a game, download a game or download an update.

Also I was wondering if there's an ETA on when achievements will work with TW2?

Galaxy like most modern gaming clients is a full blown web browser, and all of the content that exists on the web pages it loads has to be downloaded and then decompressed in memory. Graphics, video, javascript programs running on web pages all consume system resources. In addition to that, like any modern web browser they will cache graphics and otehr content in memory for performance on page reloads so going to another page wont free up the resources for a previously viewed page right away. The amount of memory it uses for caching is further likely dependent on how much memory the system has installed. I believe Firefox and Chrome scale their cache size by default depending on how RAM-rich the system is.

I did some tests with Steam client a week or two ago and posted it in the forums here and on a fresh startup Steam client on my system (32GB of RAM present) uses up anywhere from 300MB on the low side to 600+MB on the high side depending on what page Steam client is configured to view by default. Actually using the client and going to some store pages, library pages, etc. will cause memory use to increase. It's also important to note that both Steam and Galaxy client use multiple processes, and that all of these subprocesses memory use must be added up.

Another thing worth noting too is that Steam client has been around for 12 years or so and has had a lot of fine tuning and optimization done on it. Galaxy client at the moment is using roughly the same resources and has only been around for a few months. Over time it will both have new features added and also get optimized to use less resources.

One thing is for absolute certain though - any modern gaming client is going to be using several hundred megabytes of memory on any system for the simple reason that they all have decided to base their client on web technologiy by using an embedded web browser. In the case of both Steam and Galaxy, they embed Google Chrome's web engine.

Anyone expecting any game client to use less than 200MB of memory is probably going to be disappointed by every game client out there and should probably not bother.

Having said that, Galaxy can use 2GB of memory and I wont give the slightest care personally. 32GB of RAM 2 years ago cost me $200, and when my system starts getting memory-pressure from the software I'm using eventually I'll go buy more RAM when the time comes.

People who have low RAM systems probably don't even want or need a gaming client anyway, they probably just want a minimalistic downloader program like GOG Downloader, or even just downloading via the web browser directly (which uses 200+MB of RAM itself I should also point out).

All in all though, it's a non-issue.
This was probably suggested before but can we get a box for Rember username and password for the client?
I just want to say that i love the client ^-^
If a game card shows that the game has achievements but I haven't received any even after I completed it, is it a bug or does the beta still not fully support it?

It happened to me for Dead Synchronicity.
Will update Galaxy client_1.0.2.958 beta and it does not run on your
desktop? For this it is necessary to do something.
Yep, same here. I can`t run the 1.0.2.958 beta version either at all. So an update also isn`t possible beyond this version, even when I read there is a follow-up version already out. But if I load the entire Galaxy client again from the gog page, it still only delivers 1.0.2.958 . So: No usable client for me til now :/
