== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Hmm,

this is an example (I put it here, because I am not certain this classifies as a real bug)

I just bought the DLC for Pillars.. I bought the DLC pass version which includes the first (which is downloading just fine)
and the other yet to come. Now, after the purchase the single purchase option (if I had wanted to just buy DLC 1)
still doesn't register as having been purchased in the store, but the DLC pass that includes both DLCs *is* registered
properly.

This is the probable bug part.. I can easily see that someone having bought the pass, accidentally trying to buy the
single DLC version (as it is not displayed as being purchased already) I assume this to be the case with other
packages too.

So if this is not a bug, then please fix it. Because at least I find it annoying :)

Best regards/
Mike

Pond86: After buying Doom from GOG, it occured to me is there a way to change the exe file that Galaxy uses to launch the game (for source mods?) Or if I have to rename the source mod exe to the original exe name will that cause any issues (aside from updating.)
Sure, take a peek into goggame-##########.info in game directory. You may even add your own entry to Galaxy menu.

"name" : "modded doom", //menu entry
"type" : "FileTask",
"path" : "doom.exe", // game executable
"workingDir" : "",
"arguments" : " " // optional command line arguments

Awesome, thanks for the info!
GOG update crashed for me after I changed to receive preview updates and while it was updating to 1.1. Since then I get a crash now and then from it when I start GOG galaxy. It did update to 1.1 however.

Destro: it does not matter if you just installed the Client as the rollback function is global for all users. Generally speaking, as long as the game and its updates were released through GOG Galaxy (and that's the case for pretty much every game) you can always roll back between last few updates.
Does rollback rely on the user having previously installed the earlier build on the same system, or does it actually download the chosen build from the server?

My GOG Galaxy client still refuses to update to 1.1 even when updates are enabled :-( Is there some way to push it?

Rollback uses builds available on the server, so that you can downgrade or upgrade to a version which you never had installed before.

- Which version of the Client are you currently on and what is your OS?
- Have you have clicked (selected) the "Receive preview updates to test upcoming features" checkbox in app settings?
- Have you tried restarting the Client after more than 5 minutes after selecting the checkbox above (there is a small cooldown for update checks on start so waiting few minutes might be needed)

Thanks, it is a known issue (the crash is just an updater not closing properly)... Expect new 1.1 update next week that hopefully should be addressing that.

I had 1.0.7.??? on Windows 7, selected receiving preview updates, but after waiting couple more minutes with client off it updated on next galaxy startup. So it's already OK and I'm running 1.1.0 version. Thx for quick reply!

myransan: I cant get mine to update. I have enable preview builds, and tried restarting the client multiple times.

Mac running OS X El Capitan Public Beta 2. I'm guessing that's why it wont update?

Any chance of a manual download link?
Could you post an issue on Mantis (details in the first sticky post above) with logs attached?
Second I would recommend updating the system to Beta 7 (latest at the moment and much more stable).
This please verify that "GalaxyCommunication" is at /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/redists".
If all of the above fail I would recommend a full reinstall.

kergoth: I've been seeing that connection refused talking to the service problem for months, even with Yosemite. 90% of my game updates fail to install, and that's after it spent hours consuming 100% of my cpu while i imported my games (they're on a thunderbolt drive, if that's a factor). I've seen periodic crashes of the app as well. It's been quite a while since I've seen a beta of anything this unstable. Also not getting the preview update the way myransan is seeing.
Could you try the above steps as well (without the system update of course)? Thanks!

This should be of interest (I'm currently also on El Capitan, the latest public beta, though I'll fire up a Yosemite install on an external drive to see the behavior there), from the pile of GalaxyCommunication crash reports:

Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: @rpath/libPocoFoundation.1.6.1.dylib
Referenced from: /Users/Shared/*/GalaxyCommunication
Reason: image not found

I also have, in the past day, 3 different crashes from GalaxyClient itself, a SIGSEGV, a SIGILL, and a SIGABRT. I have those crash reports if that'd be useful.

I'll see about posting to mantis, but honestly there are so many open bug reports there it takes ages just to figure out if there's an existing bug open for my failures, in that case I'm assuming we should just open new ones anyway and let you guys resolve the dupes? As a sofware engineer, I try to to my due diligence when opening bug reports, but this one being public makes it rather difficult :)

Report sent to Mantis.

Running latest public beta available of El Capitan. (version 15A262e) I think thats close to Beta 7 in the paid program.

Galaxycommunication is where i should be.

Full Reinstall of GOG client made no difference.

Edit: My windows client works as it should and updated right away.

FYI, doing this:

cd /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/redists
ln -sf GalaxyUpdater.app/Contents/Frameworks/lib*.dylib .

Gets GalaxyCommunication running again, which lets the 1.1 update apply. After that, I get the afaik already-known segfault in GalaxyUpdater, but at least it's after the 1.1 update successfully applied. And then I get the usual failures to update/install, I'm digging into that next.

I did run into another SIGABRT failure with the galaxy client as well, but restarting it seemed to get past that, I'm guessing that's intermittent.

Fallen_Zen: If there will be a demand for us to change that, why not :)
Fair enough : )
There is one more cosmetic thing I'd like to mention. Looks like <i>not connected</i> notification has changed. I think it looked better the old way.
btw, since 1.1.0.90 I'm not getting not connectednotification on rtcw page anymore, just a spinning circle right below play button. I know it's not important and even not supported, but someone has to be blamed, why not me? ; )

BKGaming: Erm, Why do the names of some of the game change and then not stick? For instance with the new update "The Witcher 3 ®: Wild Hunt" becomes "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The" when I click on the game card. This happens to many games. But whenever I restart the client the name change back and again change only when I click on the game card.

Should I report this on mantis?
Did you report it? I think that's because of different naming in goggame-#.info and server side.
The same with Blood II - The Chosen + Nightmares in .info file and Blood 2: The Blood Group on server side.

edit, that's the thing. more games with the same issue:

Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000
Battle Realms Complete
Dungeon Keeper Gold
Fallout
Fallout 2
Gangsters
Kingpin
Little Big Adventure
Stalker
Saints Row - The Third
STAR WARS: Empire At War Gold
System Shock 2
The Bard's Tale
The Witcher 2
Unreal 2
Vampire The Masquerade
and probably many many more.. ; )
I'd suggest stick with goggame-#.info naming in Galaxy sidebar, games are recognized by gameId anyway.
