Now, the thing with Spanish/Portugese is:
it's used in many countries (which would speak for an extra forum)...but it's also fractured in many different dialects (the Portugese spoken in Portugal is different from the Portugese spoken in Brazil, etc., etc.), and people don't always react kindly to (what they consider) "butchered" languages.

So - which version of the Portugese/Spanish languages would you use?
And what about those customers who are pissed about your choice?

Equally good questions would be: why no Japanese forum and why no Italian forum?
Basically for the same (yet slightly different) reasons as with Spanish/Portugese:
you need staffers, who are fluent in these languages, or else you put possible customers rather off, instead of enticing them.

Instead of these two languages, we have Polish and Russian.

Why Polish? Well, GOG is a Polish company, after all.
Why Russian? Good question - next question.
