TheDudeLebowski: Please explain why you deserve a refund after spending over 40 hours on a supposedly 20 hour game.
avatar
2021AD: Did you finished the game at least?
Yes, spent 60 hours on it, and I only quit because it was taking too much of my time. Loved it to bits. Played stealth/netrunner/blades. Rarely used guns, rarely looted, rarely crafted. Will eventually revisit for the other endings.

Edit: Just checked. I spent a little over 70 hours on it. Forgot I occasionally revisit it :P

Orkhepaj: I know it is half finished , but is it that bad? :O
avatar
TheDudeLebowski: It's not. The ones complaining are considerably more vocal than the ones who actually love the game. Check out Metacritic's user reviews for a more well rounded view on happy against unhappy gamers (19k positive vs 7k negative, and about 2.5k mixed, with scores ranging 5-7).

However, given all the over-inflated hype generated by CDPR, this negativity is expected and balances things out. Also, a lot of people are still understandably angry at the messy launch of the game, and their reaction is justified.

Btw, Kingdom Come Deliverance has a lot more bugs than CP2077 v1.2, and that's a 3 year old game with many patches. Is the criticism against CP2077 fair? No. Is it justified considering how CDPR handled everything? Yes.

As for the OP:
Please explain why you deserve a refund after spending over 40 hours on a supposedly 20 hour game.
ah , im still waiting until they finish the game :)

he deserves a refund as gog refund says 30 days from purchase no matter how much he played
and looks like they accepted his request just didnt follow throu with it

4aiman: Complaining on all social media I can.
I requested a refund for Ultimate Red Collection. And it was granted. In words only.
In reality it's been almost 3 months since my initial inquiry.

Some employee (goes by "Rokky") had been apologetically stalling the process of refund until a week or so ago.
These days Rokky just ignores the ticket.

Ticket #956757.
Contact me ASAP, GOG.
This is not how customer service should work.
Sorry my friend, you are not elegible for a refound, you have played the game for several hours.

If you love the game that's what matters and congratulations for finishing the game.

' I only quit because it was taking too much of my time'

That's the part I hate of videogames. When you are aware you are playing alone in the middle of the night and you say to yourself: I still have to dinner and is almost dawn. Well, not always but time ago sometimes was something crazy like that.

I think was Monkey Island that quote 'time to go to sleep" or something like that at the end of the game.

If you're going to try and exploit GOG's refund system you should probably play offline instead of reporting playtime to them.

Me too.

It was marketed as something else so naturally it takes some time to sink in that you've been scammed, and reviewers wasn't even allowed to use their own material. The game was hyped up only by CDPR, and when one is a fan it takes some time to actually be objective about the situation...

"Deep, advanced branching RPG, gripping non-linear story filled with life and detail". Not even close, and even with overtime they released it broken.

Even on the Steam the amount of concurrent players fell like an avalanche shortly after like no other game has seen. Since the story is linear and the open word part is like a walk in the park, I'll save it for later. Not much for replayabillity either, so yes, I'm waiting as long as possible for that one playthrough :D

Though, yes, I agree, 40 hours is too much, even when one stubbornly won't realize it is like a beautiful lake but with thin ice. I didn't want to admit it myself before going just past 8-10 ish hours and I asked myself if it was really worth it right now.

Then again, it is a 30-day refund policy, but only if GOG is in a good mood:
https://www.gog.com/news/gogs_updated_refund_policy_has_your_back_even_more

And it all sums up in one sentence: starting now, you can get a full refund up to 30 days after purchasing a product, even if you downloaded, launched, and played it. That's it.
Notice the wording here "can", as in not entitled to without questions, but maybe if you work with them ;)

Unless the OP is lying or have entirely misunderstood his communication with GOG his refund reques has already been approved by the only entity he needs to "justify" it too - GOG. What I or anyone else think about whether he deserved the refund in the first place is immaterial, he certainly is entitled to it now that it's been agreed to by the store. The request itself might have been exploitative, but in the end he is right - this is not how customer service should work. A refund granted should be paid, or should not have been granted at all. 3 months of stalling is not ok.

SolzhenitsynA: So you want your money back for the CD Projekt RED Collection after you've played Cyberpunk 2077 for over 42 1/2 hours. You should be banned from GOG not ignored! Asshole!!

nightcraw1er.488: How did he manage to play cyberpunk for 42 hours? What else does he do for relaxation, hammer nails into his testicles?
Have you even played the game? Just curious. I have about 200 hours and counting. It has problems, certainly. But it's also quite playable and enjoyable.

sanscript: Another fascinating thread into the human psyche.

Outright calling someone "Asshole!" gives you thunderous applause, while questioning another persons actions with a little sarcastic flair or being negative about a seemingly popular game makes you unpopular.

No, no, the world isn't ruled by emotions at all...
Maybe speaking up against this insanity again will get me back to -69...

Except when it's literally unplayable due to gamebreaking bugs.

Sure. I have not encountered those personally though, soooo. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm just saying it hasn't happened to me. So some people, I'd wager a majority of PC players haven't seen game breaking bugs that haven't been fixed yet. Sure the game at times feels like framework of what could be a better game one day, but it's quite enjoyable still imo.

And more hours you will spend playing the game lol

That is what I hate of videogames like I said. Entertaining but time wasting.

Unless you are paid to play videogames of course.

Yeah, I've read it, this is why they should make a way clearer policy, i wonder how this CAN is interpreted by the law.
Imho if they don't write how to decide refund is accepted or not that means every refund should be accepted.

That's what I'm reading always many bugs and crashes.

Anyway I don't care I just play old videogames since 2011.

I bought some indie titles after 2011, but for me time stopped at 2011.
