Since steam is dropping support for XP soon, and upgrading in my case is not an option, I need a ship to jum on, so I can play the older games.

I have installed GoG Downloader, but it says I'm offline with endless "connecting..." next to it.

Does this problem have something to do with the fact that I want to play an old game on a system it was made for? Can it be fixed(excluding upgrade)?
