It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Suddendly Steam websites like http://store.steampowered.com/ stop working or at least working propely and the same happens with the gog main site. This forum works but I can't see user's avatars (I'm seeing a question mark instead)

I've tried with differents web browsers. My internet goes fine. I can watch streamings, youtube, downloads, everything that you can imagine but Steam and GOG sites can't run normal.

South america problem might be a bit of an exaggeration, it's working normally, here in my country.

Have you tried disabling all extensions, or running in incognito mode?

And the obvious question, have you contacted gog staff about this?
Seems like the problem isn't about gog nor steam.

Steam client (I can download games) works fine but any web or store related to steam doesn't work

Gog website doesn't work and i cant download anything even with galaxy.

Now the local TV (Argentine) say something about "cyberattacks" perhaps my ISP, Fibertel, has some issues so they decieded to block some ports
Or it's simply some extension to blame, which could be solved with a simple reset (by removing files from user data folder of your browser, you don't even need to download the browser installer and do the reinstallation like is commonly done).

I had a problem with a 'harmless' extension before. It's worth a try.

Just make sure to save the stuff you want to keep, somewhere, before doing this. Bookmarked pages, for example.

In an odd coincidence, after reading this post and clicking back out into the general forum, this is the sight that greeted me.

Bueno en la casa de mi hermano pasa como en tu caso pero en mi caso tampoco va bien la web de steam. Fijate que los de TN le dieron manija al tema.. supongo que por seguridad bloquearon los puertos y después empezaron a hablar de esto en la tele

Translated: well, at my brother's house the situation is the same at yours but here steam website isn't working neither.
TN (a TV channel which owners at the same company as our ISP) talks a lot about these cloud computing attacks. I guess they closed many ports and then start talking about this in their media.

Now, suddenly, works! I can access to my gog library :D and I hope Theiluvatar can too.
Also I can go through the steam website.

This wasn't mentioned by anyone here in Argentina but obviously was related with the famous ISP called Fibertel. I've asked to every fibertel user that I could and gog.com didn't work for anyone. The problem with the steam web sometimes works sometimes not.

Solved!
