i believe everyone gets the same deal, so i believe other people might be in my bucket.

the way the deal works is: you get shown a list of games, you have to redeem the code associated with that game and then check out.

but! if you already have a cart of games and you want to add these to the cart, it sees the WHOLE cart and doesn't effectively add the discount for the "correct" games in the cart. [plus, it lists the code, then, as "invalid" even if it is copy/pasted directly into this list.]

this is INCREDIBLY dumb.

it forces you to make two separate transactions.

one transaction to accept the gifted code.

one transaction for your other purchases.

gog, if you're reading, this is nonsense. re-consider this store behaviour for the next go-round of this sort of thing, please.

Has been like that forever, no?
Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't mind, if they changed that...but after all these years, it's probably safe to assume, that this is not very high on their priority list.

maybe so.

i've just never tried to stack things in that way before now, so this is my first encounter with that sort of behaviour.

it's very silly.

Yeah it is.
But it probably has to do with their accounting and possible refunding of different parts of an order, when there have been special discounts applied to some but not to others.
(might make it a real mess to deal with in case of refund requests)

It's the only way it makes any sense to me.

you're likely right and it likely is a line-item issue.

it's just silly and it's a thing that could be solved. there just seems like zero desire to do that.
