GogiNut: Here is an interesting and easy solution for the Broken Sword: Director's Cut problem.
I looked inside the Broken Sword.app package and found another version with the same name inside which works just fine without installing anything or doing any modifications to it.
I'm glad I and the others here were able to help you, but that's an interesting find indeed. If you have time, I really recommend you posting this to the Broken Sword forums, in case someone else is having similar issues to you.

astropup: It's hard to know without exact model specification. Looking at this list there are both 32-bit and 64-bit 2006 MacBook Pros. The ones coming with T2x00 processor are 32-bit. The others, coming with T7400, are 64-bit.
Yes, Apple differentiates between the two by calling it the MacBook Pro (Early 2006) and the MacBook Pro (Late 2006). The Early 2006 models have Core Duo CPUs, while the Late 2006 models have the Core 2 Duo. Another quick and dirty way to differentiate them is to ask what version of the OS they're running. Core Duo Intel Macs only support up to 10.6, while the Late 2006 MacBook Pro can run 10.7.

Thanks, I have posted about the problem and solution to the forums for each game:

not allowed to post the links to these...

Interestingly enough I was also able to run the GOG version of Resonance the same way even though my processor does not mach their system requirements. Awesome game by the way.
