I just received an e-mail from GOG informing me that they had given me a game from my wishlist for free. I don't know what algorithm selected me for this gift, if it was random luck of the draw, or maybe if everybody received a similar e-mail, but I just wanted to say thanks to GOG for being such a swell distributor.

GOG is and has always been my preferred platform. Even though I occasionally disagree with some of its decisions, I believe it's the most consumer oriented digital distributor and I strongly approve of its commitment to DRM free gaming (where applicable).

Last week I was informed that Underworld Ascendant would not be appearing on GOG's catalogue. When the developer asked if I wanted a Steam or DRM-free key, I told them that I wanted a GOG key and that I would wait until one was available. Though all backers were eventually given Steam keys, I left mine be. When and if Underworld is ready for a GOG release, then I will play it.

Today is the holiday of Thanksgiving in the USA, when we stop to reflect on this things that we appreciate in life. It may not seem like much, but one of the things I'm thankful for is GOG. Not just because they gave me a free game for being a loyal customer, but because I'm grateful that there's an enterprise that's worth being loyal to.

Wherever in the universe you happen to be, be it America or Poland or Temeria, I hope everybody has a happy Thanksgiving!
Is it a TellTale game?
Yes, Batman: Enemy Within. It's probably a sunset promotion in the wake of Telltale's bankruptcy but a nice gesture all the same.
