Thanks to their inventions, money and a network of factories, it would be possible to implement the New Atlantis project -- secretly build The Underwater City, which would allow a group of carefully selected people to survive a nuclear war between superpowers.
And all would have been well if the crew of Nautilus 007 hadn't discovered the ancient tombs of the Kings of Atlantis beneath The Mysterious Island, from where Commander Bond took the manuscript of the Necromanteion of Acheron and released the ancient Evil that had been dormant for eons.
Only the ancient spells of the Necronomicon can tame this threat, and only Laura Croft can find the lost book... But that's another story.
