I just finished Chasm: The Rift.
Gameplay wise, it's a fast paced shooter from the 90s. The character moves fast akin to games like Duke 3D, Blood or Shadow Warrior. The only thing that feels kinda off is the jump, though. It just doesn't feel right for some reason. Other than that, the game is very fun to play.
Levels are maze like where you have to go around trying to find the next switch or color card to open the door you need to proceed forward. Some can be pretty annoying and have you lost for a while. Also, the way some are designed, plus enemies' placement, can lead to some cheap deaths, making some sections really frustrating and prone to multiple attempts. But they're varied and each episode has you going into a different setting, so it keeps things fresh. One cool thing, though, is that enemies also change based on setting, so you'll not be fighting the same ones every time.
And speaking of enemies, one thing that caught me off guard was the ability to blow their limbs and heads off. It's awesome and it just puts a grin to our faces.
The weapons are good to use and pack some punch.
It's a short game overall. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to beat it, including the add-on. IMO, this was a plus, since the game doesn't overstay its welcome. Short but sweet.
In sum, I had a pretty good time with it, and recommend it to any fan of this type of fps games.
Thank you very much once again Doc. You're amazing!
