You are right, because I wasn't using the forums until I realized that I had many games that were about to expire if I didn't give them away to people who might need it, I also have a post in a trading thread, I don't know if that counts as something separate, but if I don't qualify it doesn't matter.

I just realized that classic games like Olympic Challenge and Amazon are actually similar to the modern visual novel genre
Many adventure games back then were secretly visual novels, including point and click inside a frame screen!
Here is a tip for computer upgraders.

Uh, Olympic Challenge is a sports game, really don't see how it could be similar to a visual novel.
As for adventure games being VNs... Wouldn't say so. Puzzles vs. choices would likely be a key difference. And there are VNs with little in the way of choices too, mainly going through the story (such as it is in some cases). Also, there are VNs with rolls or stats / RPG elements. Adventure games don't have that. In adventure, the player must find the solution, it's not the character who may succeed or fail based on things not under the player's control.

Freespace 2's not a shooter. It's a space sim.

If you shoot stuff, it's a shooter. It's in space, you're in a ship and use ship's weapons, but it's a shooter.
