Hoi bjgamer! Thanks for another celebration with entertaining activities and excellent prizes! I'd like to enter to the haunted GOGyard, please.

A young boy lay in his bed, staring at the ceiling. An evening ago, he had listened to old stories about witches and ghosts that haunted the dark canals. As the wind blew outside, he thought he heard soft moans, like spirits wandering through the night. His heart raced as he remembered tales of ugly witches hiding in the shadows, waiting to lure children away.

Suddenly, a loud noise came from the hallway, making him sit up straight. Was it just the house settling, or was something more sinister lurking nearby? He pulled the blanket tightly around him, trying to block out the chilling thoughts. The stories warned of a witch who could smell fear and would come for him if he showed it.

He squeezed his eyes shut, wishing for morning to come quickly. But as another strange sound filled the air, he realized that some stories never truly end. They linger in the dark, waiting for someone to believe.

I hope you enjoyed it. The list of games I'd like to participate in is:

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
Little Nightmares
Prey
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition
SOMA
In Sound Mind - Deluxe Edition
Darkwood
Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure Deluxe Edition
LIMBO

...That was the day I found his diary.

...?

I don't remember where I was when I did first find it, what I was even thinking when I started reading it... I don't know what I was doing man... Damn it.. I... I should have just get out of where I was and run away.

...?

No. All I could see when I started to read it was pages and more pages of experiences of suffering. But somehow I could not stop reading it. As if... As if it was somehow a part of me in there, suffering with him.

...?

Three... three.. stories. I mean... Those three are the ones that most called my attention..

...?

Yes. At one time, the he was in what he described to be a beautiful forest at day time. Full of fallen leaves. It sounded as if it was Autumn season for him when he was recalling it? I.. I don't know.

...?

It was a cold day in there, he said. He said he was running. Not running from something mind you, but running to get something. The way he explained it, as if he wanted to eat? He was hungry. But he could never reach what he was chasing.

...?

He said that he was always pursuing that 'something' and then...

...?

What?

...?

No. He didn't said what he was chasing. He only said that he pursued it until it was night.

...?

Yes, Im sure!

...?

He didn't said what he was chasing. I told you already! He was pursuing that, using words that I think... I think... The feeling of being hungry and forever pursuing, but never being able to be satisfied.
He continued to write about it, as far as I remember, to the point that it became night and lost whatever he was chasing, although, he said, he continued to be hungry.

...?

The second story?... F** man.. Can't we stop? Can't I get some water at least?

...

He said he was inside a house... this is somewhere around page 40 and 60? He was tied for 3 days. It was dark. Very dark. All he could see was that window moon light and big branches shading shadows to his feet and, yes, now I remember... He felt an eerie feeling. Then he... he... saw it in the window this..

...!?

I don't know man! I said It to you guys before, I don't know.. I... I.. I never meet him, I think... God Im so confused. I just remember he screamed for someone called Clive.. man, I just want to get out of here man, please!

...!

OK ok! I will! Just.. please.. I will... in the third story I remember he was in a long corridor alone. He couldn't see a thing behind him and couldn't understanding nothing in front of him. But he started to have weird thoughts pushing him forward. I remember exactly what the thoughts were.

...?

Voices? I don't remember if he heard anything in the diary. But he said the thoughts were... firm... they were... clear, as if someone was talking inside his head.

...

The thoughts were: "You must eat", "Don't look", "Forward, Steven".

...?

I don't know! Man... I told you guys already. Please... just let me go.

...

What you mean?!

... ...?

No man, I did nothing wrong!

...!

OK, so I've given part of The Raven a GOGish retelling. I might add more later if I have the time.

Once upon a midday dreary, while I idled, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious title of forum posts galore.
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a flashing,
As of someone eyeball attracting, flashing of the bell in-store.
“’Tis some comment,” I muttered, “flashing my bell in-store—
Only this and nothing more.”

Ah, I remembered vividly stone-sober it was mid-October;
And the YouTube list nearly over, "Let's Play" set encore.
Eagerly I wished the morrow;—vainly I had sought to borrow
From my games surcease of sorrow—sorrow for my mood of idleness & bore—
For the dark and glum feels whom the depressors name idleness & bore—
Shameful attitude for evermore.

And the sunken, sad, uncertain browsing of each thread new version
Thrilled me—filled me with dour worries never felt before;
So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I sat repeating:
“’Tis some replier entreating answer in the forum in-store—
Some late replier entreating answer in the forum in-store;—
This it is and nothing more.”

Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
“Sir,” said I, “or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
But the fact is I was laxing yet you wanted gaze attracting,
And so replying you sent it flashing, flashing of my bell in-store,
That I scarce was sure I heard you”—here I clicked the bell in-store;—
Discounts there and nothing more.

Deep into the screen peering, long I sat there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, thinking comments no user ever dared to read before;
But the silence was unbroken, the threads remained still open,
And the only word was spoken was the whispered word, “Ignore”
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, “Ignore”—
Merely this and nothing more.

Back to YouTube turning, all my soul within me burning
Soon again I saw a flashing somewhat brighter than before.
Surely,” said I, “surely that is something of my Windows status;
Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore—
Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore;—
’Tis nuisance notice and nothing more!”

I'm in for:
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.
The kids came home and pulled off their human masks, under which was their scales, writhing tentacles, and jagged teeth. They placed all their treats out on the kitchen table: bloody fingers, twitching and oozing. Eyeballs, still moist, glistening.
“Children? You can each have ONE treat to eat tonight,” their mother called. The kids groaned. Why did mummy always have to ruin everything?

Sean had heard the stories about sleep paralysis, but he never thought it would happen to him. One night, he woke up unable to move, his body frozen in place while a shadowy figure loomed at the foot of his bed. It had glowing red eyes and a wicked grin that seemed to stretch impossibly wide. As he tried to scream, all that came out was a muffled whimper. The figure leaned closer, whispering dark secrets about his deepest fears and regrets. Panic surged through him as he struggled against the invisible weight holding him down, but it was no use, he was trapped in a waking nightmare. The next morning, Sean jolted awake, still shaken by the experience. As he reached for his alarm clock, he realized he was once again stuck in that familiar paralysis. The alarm blared obnoxiously, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't move a muscle. The room felt suffocating, and the shadows seemed to creep closer as if the demon from last night had returned for round two. Finally managing to roll over, Sean gasped, "Alexa, open Pray As You Go. Let's exorcise this sucker so I can be on time!" At that instant, the alarm clock began playing the holy rosary in stereo, accompanied by soft chants in the background. But then an even more shocking scene came to Sean's mind: The inventory audit scheduled for today! His boss would be in a particularly foul mood. "Alexa, change of plans! Alexa, close the blinds. Alexa, turn off the lights. Alexa, total silence please! Let me have this paralysis instead!" He chuckled nervously. Work would be far worse than the creepy experience he was having in his room.

Happy Halloween season everyone. Thank you for the giveaway, bjgamer, Doc0075 and KillingMoon. I enter to the Storyteller's Challenge.

Once upon a time, I was a hopeful gamer waiting for the ultimate sale on my dream game, Ultimate Adventure Quest. The day finally arrived with a massive discount, and my heart raced. I confidently entered my credit card details, imagining the epic adventures ahead. But then, the screen flashed red and said rejected. I stared in disbelief, thinking this must be a mistake. I tried again, convinced that my credit card just needed a little encouragement. Rejected again. My dreams of slaying dragons and saving kingdoms began to fade. I took a deep breath and tried for the third time. The rejection felt like a dagger to my hopes. I could almost hear the game mocking me from the screen, taunting me with its tantalizing images. I pressed on, determined to overcome this obstacle.
With renewed resolve, I made a fourth attempt. The familiar red message appeared once more, and frustration boiled within me. What was wrong with my card? Was it cursed? I decided to give it one last shot. The fifth try ended in rejection as well, and despair settled in like a heavy fog. Desperate now, I tried again for the sixth time. Another rejection echoed in my mind like a sinister laugh. My heart sank as I realized I might never play that game. With trembling hands, I hit enter for the seventh time. Rejected again. This was becoming a nightmare that I could not escape.
Terrified and flooding in frustration, I hoped that one day, I would triumph over my credit card woes and finally embark on the adventure I had long desired. Determined not to give up, I tried one last time. Rejected once more. I could almost hear my credit card laughing at me. I felt like a ghost haunting the checkout page, forever doomed.

The games I would like:
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition.
- Blackwell Epiphany.
- Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.
- In Sound Mind - Deluxe Edition.
- Little Nightmares.

Have a Horrific Halloween! Boo!
Spirits of Baciu

Have you ever heard of the Hoia-Baciu Forest? It's famous for strange things happening and people disappearing without a trace. Even the locals are too scared to go near it, especially at night. They’ve been warning others to stay away for years.

Let me tell you a story about Alexandru Popescu, a young man who had just moved to Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Like many newcomers, he heard all the creepy stories about the Hoia-Baciu Forest but didn’t believe any of it. He was the type of person who trusted facts and science, not old superstitions. But one cool autumn evening, after hearing one too many ghost stories, he decided to check out the forest himself.

As the full moon lit up the mountains, Alexandru grabbed his coat and flashlight and headed to the forest. The air was cool, and a light breeze rustled the leaves as he reached the edge of the trees. He felt a strange chill, but it wasn’t just from the cold - it was something he couldn’t quite explain.

As soon as he stepped into Hoia-Baciu, everything changed. The wind stopped, and the forest became completely silent. He kept walking, his flashlight lighting up only what was directly in front of him. The further he went, the more the silence felt heavy, like the whole forest was holding its breath.

Then, he heard whispers.

At first, they sounded like the wind blowing through the trees. But as Alexandru kept walking, he realized they weren’t natural sounds. They were voices - quiet, almost too soft to hear, but definitely voices.

"Alexandru... Alexandru..."

He froze, his heart pounding. Someone was calling his name, but he couldn’t see anyone. He shined his flashlight into the trees, but there was nothing there. Trying to stay calm, he told himself it was just the wind. But the whispers kept getting louder.

"Alexandru.. you shouldn’t be here."

Suddenly, his flashlight flickered and went out, leaving him in complete darkness. Panic set in as he fumbled with the flashlight, but it wouldn’t turn back on. The voices were closer now, surrounding him.

"Alexandru... stay with us."

His heart raced as he turned to leave, but the path was gone. The forest had changed - the trees were twisted and gnarled, their branches reaching out like skeleton hands. The whispers were no longer quiet; they were all around him, calling his name, pulling him deeper into the forest.

In the dark, he saw shadows moving between the trees - pale shapes that seemed to appear and disappear. His breathing speed up, and he started to run, but no matter how fast he moved, the forest seemed to close in on him. The air felt thick, like something unseen was pressing down on him.

Suddenly, he tripped and fell to the cold damp ground. He was gasping for breath, and the whispers had grown deafening, as if they were mocking him.

"Alexandru... you’re one of us now."

Desperate, he tried to get up, but he felt something cold touch the back of his neck. He froze in fear as a voice whispered right into his ear.

"Welcome to Hoia-Baciu."

Before he could even scream, everything went black.

Hope you guys enjoy the story! Happy Spooktober Fest!

( From a partially burnt note, found in the fire place of a deserted house in the forest)

"I write this to warn others of the same fate. For me, there is no hope. But you might escape my fate. I bought this house with money ill gained. I wanted to live far away from the human race. But even in solitude one has needs. So once in a moon I went to the town for shopping.

One day I found a new shop in town, it's windows filled with ... junk. Antiques in various states of disrepair and partially without any recognizable use. However, I like old stuff so I went in. The shopkeeper was as ancient as his wares and one of his eyes never was still for a single second. His gaze seemed to be fixed on me and at the same time wandering around the room. Very disconcerting. He took an ancient, wooden box from under the counter, it's sides decorated with intricate, puzzle like veneer. At least six different kinds of wood hat been used to build this box. I liked it immediately. It would look splendid on my mantlepiece. The shop keeper assured me that it had been waiting for a connessoir like me. And I bought it.

But I knew that something was wrong when I came home, to this isolated abode and took out the silver key to the box, that the shopkeeper had given me. In the firelight the key seemed scratched. But when I investigated closer, I saw that the scratches weren't random. Someone had carved my name in the key! I was spooked, but still I used it. Inside, I found a very pretty doll, which must have cost tenfold of what I paid for the box.

Rejoicing, I sat the doll on the mantle-piece next to the wooden box. But at night I heard a noise upstairs in the attic. I climbed the stairs and saw some movement in the dark. I looked closer, and there, in the light of my torch, was the doll. How did she get up here? With a bad premonition, I picked her up and put her back on the mantlepiece. I must have sleepwalked and put her in the attic.

However, when I woke up the next morning, the doll was sitting on the headrest of my bed. I freaked out and jumped out of bed and I am damn sure, that the eyes of the wooden doll followed me. Scared, I picked her up and threw her out of the window. But when I went to the living room to make breakfast and calm my nerves with some tea, there she was. Sitting in the old baby chair at the table. And this time, when I reached for her to throw her out again, she moved. Her eyes fixed on mine, she opened her mouth, far wider than should be possible with her small head and the teeth she revealed! Oh the teeth! I drew back my hand lest I lose it.

And then, I don't know how, I got back to making tea ... and the doll streched out her tiny hand as if she wanted a cup too. So I gave her a doll's cup full of tea... and she drank it.

What followed were the strangest days of my life. First the doll only moved slightly. Then more and more. Eventually, I heard her talk in my head. We basically lived together as if she were living. First she sat on my headrest at night. But then she started sleeping in my bed and in the morning I would find myself holding her in my arms. It felt as if we were married... either the solitude was getting to me and I had gone mad, or someone had bestowed a tiny wife on me.

But alas, the peaceful, even if weird, days wouldn't last. Our 'marriage' deteriorated and she started talking more and more, nagging and nagging and nagging. Until I snapped. Ignoring her teeth I grabbed her from behind, tossed her into the box, the key with her and snapped the lid shut. A snap lock. With the key inside the box, no one would ever be able to open it! And then, for good measure, I put the box in the fireplace right into the fire.

That should have been it. But now, here I am. Smoke fills the tiny room that I'm in. Here's the key lying next to me. The key tied to me by name and curse. And no lock to put it in. The lid of my room is tightly closed and the wooden walls get warmer by the minute. Somehow SHE switched places with me and the 'doll' in the small wooden box, doomed to burn to death, is me!

I'm in for (in order of preference):

Skald
Tainted Grail
DARQ
The Suffering + The Suffering: Ties that bind
