Due to a very large number of fraudulent transactions coming in, we have had to disable the gifting option for three items: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Expansion Pass, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game + Expansion Pass.

We are working to clarify the problem and prevent further fraudulent transactions from being made.

We will make gifting possible once more as soon as this issue is resolved.

Regional pricing has nothing to do with these fraudulent transactions - as a matter of fact, all the purchases in question were done at the highest price possible, not the lowest.

I'm not surprised to be honest. I have seen some threads on steamtrades for questionable price and unlimited resources.

Not really. They may very well realise that low-priced regions can be restricted (I don't remember whether GOG has said redeeming Russian copies will be restricted in out-of-"USSR" regions, but I'd guess not (yet)), and want to have as little problems possible in selling their codes to North Americans, Europeans, and Australians. Also, since the transactions are fraudulent, they won't lose any money in "purchasing" from the most expensive region.

I hope this gets quickly resolved. Just got a new 970 GTX with free Witcher 3 but can't redeem it :(

Are you trying to redeem the code through GOG? You can't. You should redeem it through NVidia's website.

Yeah, that's where I tried it. It gave me a GOG-login screen and after I logged I didn't get anything and saw that info on support page. I must have made a mistake or something because I tried it again and I was able to redeem the game :)

But it is about regional pricing.

Probably super-rich people from the African continent that were trying to gift full-price versions of the game to the poor Russians. :P

This has no effect on previously gifted copies, I assume? I gifted a copy in a giveaway a few weeks ago.
