I want to buy "Splinter Cell" to gift it to someone here. The reduced price is 1.69 €. When I click on "Gift this order" in the checkout area, the price suddenly goes up to 3.09 €, nearly double the price. WTF?

You don't get your regional discount (if you were receiving one) from regional pricing if you gift the order.
The price shown is broken for me too as there is no way that is supposed to be a mere €5 normally. Our price is supposed to be higher than in the USA.

You don't get your provincial rebate (in the event that you were getting one) from local estimating on the off chance that you blessing the request.

All gifts on GOG are using the US price at a bare minimum. If your game is cheaper than the US price, it will get adjusted till it does.

Except when the opposite happens. For another example, look at Rayman Origins. It costs 10 bucks in Europe, but 20 in America.

It was a bug that appeared a year and a half ago... Just another unnecessary necro. True that you either pay US price or local price, whichever is higher, when buying gifts.

gift prices are equivalent to the region-free price so that gift codes can be redeemed globally with no regional restrictions.
