Just wanted to start by saying thank you. Anything that gets me closer to getting rid of steam should be up for the Nobel Price. I would have deleted that games out of steam if they would not drop off of GOG.

I dream of a day when GOG will get Mass Effect. On that day i will load origin onto an old computer, ceremoniously walk it outside, and burn it.

Being the cynical individual that i am, what does Steam get out of this deal i wonder? I find it hard to believe that common sense finally won out and people finally realize that a digital game bought on one site should constitute you owning it. My god, think about the music industry, but alas i digress.

I think Steam got nothing, as there was probably no deal between them and GOG. Steam created some API for people to share game lists, GOG used it on its own to create tool to draw more people in. At a costs of some agreements between GOG and game publishers, GOG got more attention from Steam users in this way = potentially more buyers / earnings in future.

Haha, forgot about UPlay. i guess you could lump in Rockstar's whatever that thing is.
