PaterAlf: Progress report on Return to Castle Wolfenstein:
The boss fight against the Über-Soldier at the end of mission 5 was quite hard and frustrating and so I was curious what they would come up with at the end of mission 6. And the anwer is: Two Über-Soldiers!

[sarcastic mode on] Well done, developers! I really applaud your creativity! [/sarcastic mode off]

37 attempts later I was able to beat them and I made my way to the final mission. Level 7-1 was fun again, but in comparison to the former missions you hardly find any good amor and ammo (especially for my favourite weapon the Venom gun). I hope I will be prepared when I meet the final boss at level 7-3.

I think I will complete the game today or tomorrow (if the last fight isn't against three Über-Soldiers).

I also beat my second game "Beware Planet Earth!" yesterday and I will start playing Grim Fandango now. Does anyone want me to write about my progress here?
Congratulations and good luck on your last ventures into Castle Wolfenstein!
I would certainly like to hear about your progress with Grim Fandango, but only if you manage not to spoil me too much - I would like to enjoy it myself sometime ;-)
well this kinda sounds like fun/an effective way to get rid of some of the backlog! Would like to "enter" as well.
As my general backlog is freaking huge i will only post of a selection of games i actually already started and didn't finish yet but where the reason for not finishing them was not that i genuinely disliked the game but rather stuff like vacations coming up, temporary lacking motivation , swapping to another game and forget to go back, only quickly trying out the game for 1-2 hours and stuff like that. Well here is a selection:

Rise of the Tomb Raider
Dreamfall Chapters Book 1
Neverwinter Nights (somewhere in ACT 3 as far as i remember - it's like my third playthrough but haven't played it in years b4)
Metro Redux
Fallout 4
Max Payne 3? (The Rockstar one)
Grim Fandango HD
Batman Arkham Asylum
Final Fantasy 13-1

Challenge Accepted! Gonna start sometimes this weekend and will provide status upgrades!
I've finally completed Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Level 7-2 was quite hard, because there were lots of snipers and elite soldiers and not very much cover. I died very often before I finally made it to the exit.

The final boss in level 7-3 wasn't too hard though (I still needed several tries before I was able to kill them). It's an interesting design decision to use a melee fighter as an end boss when the player has several powerful weapons for long-ranged attacks.

Overall I liked this game. It was probably the hardest FPS that I've ever completed, but it felt never unfair. The level design was great throughout the whole game and the AI was pretty good.

Now I need a new game. Please choose something for me:

Tropico
Restaurant Empire
Star Control
The Patrician
Pirates!
Port Royale
Theme Park
Gangland
Galactic Civilizations I
Long Live the Queen
Smugglers V
Deadlock
Starflight
Mount & Blade
World of Goo
Airline Tycoon Deluxe
Sea Dogs
Rebuild 3: Gangs of Deadville
Cosmonautica
Interstellaria
Anno 1602 A.D.
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
80 Days
Sheltered
Stardew Valley
Battlestation: Harbinger

Congratulations on completing Return to Castle Wolfenstein! Sadly, I am not allowed to play it myself, but well I have tons of FPS here on gog yet to play ;-)
As for your next game, I suggest Stardew Valley. I very much liked Harvest Moon 2 for the GBC back in the day and heard that this game hits right this soft spot - I hope you will enjoy it!
Thank you, I gladly accept the challenge. I'm sure I will enjoy it. I just fear it will be very addictive and take away most of my free time.

Psst, I'm from Germany as well. You just have to find someone who will gift you the game and you can play it without any problem. ;)

I haven't played it myself, so I hope your reports will sway me into buying it ;-)
Ah... so that's how you did it... But as I said before, I have way too much backlog as it is! :-)
Progress update on Grim Fandango Remastered:
I only needed the intro to fall in love with Manny Calavera and his weird world. So far the game is quite funny and more light-hearted than I thought it would be. But there seems to be a dark secret in the background.

I play with the remastered graphics and they look very nice and in fact better than the original ones. I also use the new controls and they work well even if the camera perspective is sometimes confusing.

Puzzles so far are good and logic. There was only one situation in which I couldn't find a solution, because I missed an item (which was hidden in the background).

Progress update on Stardew Valley:
This game is simply amazing. There is so much stuff to do and to explore (and so little time each day). There's farming, fishing, romance, adventure, mining, crafting, magic and mystery. And I probably only scratched the surface by now.

And the game is very addictive and has an extremely high just-one-more-day factor. Once you start playing you won't stop for hours.
What did I learn in Stardew Valley today? Even if a girl likes to cook, a dead fish makes a terrible gift. Guess that means no romance for me today...
Progress update on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Assigned by Bass47

I finally managed to beat this game... all in all it took me about 40 hours to do so. I just couldn't find the time, but yesterday I could complete the last missions of Zero and Cesar. Today, I finished the last storyline mission and CJ finally took his revenge on the two antagonists of the game.

Overall, I enjoyed this game - but as I said before, I have fond memories of Vice City, which I still prefer. San Andreas has a lot to offer and there is still quite a lot to do left in the game - I finished it around 60% completion - but I actually feel kinda relieved that I finally beat it. Some missions were just tedious and annoyed me, like the need to control 35% of gang territories before you can access the last mission or some of the flying missions.

Well, well... onto the next game!

How about this one? It will take you a lot of time though but it's really worth it! One of the best games ever.

Yes, of course! This was one of my first games I ever played... but never finished. ;-)
I already played the gog version some time ago and think that I am around mission 4 of the campaign. I will continue from there on, if that's OK for you, Ghorpm.

Progress Update on Legend of Grimrock

I'm actually on level 2, I found the puzzles really fun. It's my first dungeon crawler.
