So I buy the four pack for myself(gifting option is greyed out so I guess this is how it works) and then get 3 extra codes right? Where wil the codes appear and how do I gift them out?

They'll appear on your gift list. Which is a list available from one of the top options on the library panel. I don't remember specifically which.

Manage Gifts and Guess Passes I think is the option itself.
