acare84: No, you can't activate the Bulletstorm on Origin.

nmillar: Actually, I've just checked it out. There's an issue with registering retail versions on Origin (you can contact EA support to have them activate it for you though), but digital versions work fine, unless you're in Germany.
Oh, didn't know that. I was talking about retail versions. :)

Is GFWL required if registered on Origin and you only have the intention of playing single-player?

Like all GFWL games you can just create an offline profile and never bother with it.

nmillar: Presumably, as it's an EA title, it can also be activated on EADM / Origin?
Nope. (At least in my case) the key is unfortunately in the wrong format. And mine's from GamersGate.

Yes, GFWL is required for all versions of this game. And yes, I only want to play single-player because of the GFWL. It doesn't support Turkey but I can create local account to play the single-player parts of GFWL enabled games. Because of that, I hate GFWL and buying GFWL enabled games with low prices. ;)
Bulletstorm is terrific fun and easily worth $12 (if GFWL doesn't put you off). I haven't enjoyed an FPS this much in quite a while, and I'm sure I'll be replaying the campaign in the future, as well as spending some time with the score attack mode.

I'm kicking myself a bit, since I just purchased this a few days ago after debating whether or not to wait for a sale, but at least I wasn't bored over the weekend. :p
How long the sale will last for Bulletstorm? :(

Detlik: How long the sale will last for Bulletstorm? :(
15 hours.

Mentalepsy: 15 hours.
Curse you Gamersgate...well I will have to wait for another opportunity to grab me a copy.
FYI, EA support really don't want to add GamersGate BulletStorm keys to Origin. The support rep I spoke to wouldn't even believe it was a real key.

GoJays2025: Nobody said anything about Bulletstorm being 60% off ($11.98) on GG? Uses GFWL though :(. - *May be North America only, as pointed out by Pheace.

Also Tomb Raider Legend and Anniversary are $3.75 each and Underworld is $5.
Is the GFWL the non-intrusive version, or does it require activation, online account and whatever nonsense that is typically associated with the name these days? Thinking of getting the retail version too.

Also, I'm interested in the Gamersgate version, if someone doesn't mind gifting it to me. I'll pay for it through Paypal.

As with all EA deals on GamersGate, they are NA only for the majority of the time. Non NA customers can only buy EA games from GamersGate.co.uk.

As an update to getting BulletStorm on Origin, they finally added it for me. But I had to send them several screenshots showing I purchased the game. They weren't going to do it all as I "hadn't bought the game from them", but once I told them I'd added Mirror's Edge to Origin (which was also bought from GamersGate) they were a little more willing. But damn, that was like squeezing blood from a stone.

Persistance always pays off with EA Support; as long as you keep your cool, you'll get what you want eventually. :)

It took "escalation to tier 2" and a 50 minute wait in a non-existent queue. But yes, it paid off. They added the "Limited Edition" version as opposed to my standard edition on GamersGate. I have no idea what makes it a limited edition though.

As for deals, Overlord complete pack on Steam for 75% off. Certainly worth it.
