GamersGate just added all of the Strategy First titles to their 5 year celebration sale (again 75% off). They now have 152 titles total on sale. The sale lasts 25 days and 17 hours from now (for the Meridian 4 and Strategy First titles).

lowyhong: Anyone know how Saints Row 2 performs on the PC now?
If you install it to a hard-drive with fast R/W access, it runs really nicely. I own this on both GamersGate and Steam. As I have Steam installed to a larger drive with slower R/W access the game runs really poorly -- it's alright walking, but as soon as you get in a car and try to go at a decent speed the FPS will drop dramatically and the entire thing will be unplayable. But as the GamersGate version doesn't rely on Steam, it can be installed anywhere -- thus, when installed to my far smaller drive with a high R/W access rate, it ran far more smoothly, even when driving vehicles at higher speed.

So if you have a fast enough hard-drive, the game is well worth it from GamersGate.

Yeah!

But I want to point to two games that will go unnoticed in this sale most probably.

- 1c - Pathologic $9.95 (33%) for unsprecified time.

- Cateia Games - The Legend of Crystal Valley $6.95 seem like a permanent 30% price drop ($9.95 formerly)

and anybody got some info on Culpa Innata by Strategy First? $4.99 (75% off)

A lot of the issues with SR2 are fixed with this, as long as one has the required system resources for the game. It helps and makes the game one of the best titles one can get, the driving will be stuttery because of the way the game was made, but other than that there should be no significant performance issues if you use it.

It is a GREAT game, but it is a rather crummy port. That is rather unfortunate. Hopefully, SR3 will be better ported (because seriously, SR2 is the best GTA-like since GTA2)

Very good adventure game with an intriguing plot. Although the ending will probably leave you either puzzled or annoyed. At that price though, it's well worth it. And hopefully, number 2 will turn up although it seems to have gone awfully quiet on that front =(
20% off everything at D2D yet again. Use code "hangover".

With news SEGA will actually fix the problems associated with Space Channel 5 part 2 and the 20% off, I was about to buy it until it said DRM: Starforce. No thanks. The good news is that the steam version is starforce free. Well maybe I'll wait a bit for the steam sale.

Thank you so much for even saying Pathologic was on GG. :D I'm so used to digital distribution sites not having the game that I never bothered to look. Just bought my second copy of it, so one physical and one digital. <3

As for Culpa Innata, While I haven't beat it I do love the game very much. Great dialogue, interesting characters and a very intriguing plot. Not to mention that music is absolutely fantastic (I still wish they released it for us cause I'd definitely listen to it outside f the game).

Thanks for the info man!
They've got some really cheap GOGs in there now. It will take quite a while for us to get such discounts here. Should we resist?

Nope.
Bought Jagged Alliance from GOG for 5 bucks and now it is just 1$ from Gamersgate :(. I heard a lot about Disciples series, should i get Disciples 1 or 2? Which is better?

At a price of $1.24 it really does not matter.
But D2 is the much more refined and better looking version.

The D2 GOLD is also just $2.49 with D2 + 2 Expansions!
I usually don´t like Strategy but this I will get most probably.

however, the Disciples Platinum is $7.49!!! and only contains D2 Gold + D1.
You can get that for half the $ if bought separately. Crazy! ;)

Yeah, thx, maybe some guys in Strategy First kidding us xD?
Not sure if anyone would take advantage of this or not but here is a deal:

WeShop:

D2D $20 Discount Code: $10
(Limit 1 per customer, regional restrictions may apply)
http://shop.weshop.com/

I used it and got my code already, took about 8-9 hours to get the code, haven't tested yet (can't decide on what I want), but it appears to be pretty legit.

EDIT: Also this is NOT stackable with other D2D promotional codes.

I never had the problem with Saints Row 2 being unplayable, it just felt "off" from what it should have been.
Anyway, Luisfius is right with everything he pointed out. There's a thread in the steamboards about this community fix and I can approve that it worked for me.
