melchiz: You cannot lose something that isn't yours. If he purchased the game and then refused to play it, then others could claim that it was "his loss." Otherwise, it's a bogus and trite phrase.
So you're saying you can't lose an ability? how about if I sow your eyelids closed. You didn't lose your ability to see.

Weclock: So you're saying you can't lose an ability? how about if I sow your eyelids closed. You didn't lose your ability to see.

It's fun to ignore what people say and the context of their arguments, right?
I wasn't arguing that you cannot lose an ability, because, durr, you can have an ability, such as the ability to debate soundly. Because that ability is yours, as in, you possess it, you can lose it. However, what exactly is the ability to play a game that one doesn't own? That's not even an ability in the same sense as what you are discussing. If I follow your logic and the logic of the above poster, every time I don't buy a sandwich I lose the ability to eat. For some reason, I can still eat later that day. Strange!
Try harder, please.

Oy. While I agree that weclock's example was rather weak, you are guilty of the exact same thing you accused him of :p
If you don't buy a sandwich one day, you lose out on the "ability" to eat a sandwich that day.
See: Opportunity Cost
Either way, I find it hilarious that one person's random hissy fit about not being able to play a game because he thought there was DRM has turned into an argument on grammar and whether a saying is appropriate.
Sidenote: I am also kind of peeved that I didn't get FC2 then. I bought it on Impulse and eventually got a free upgrade to the DRM-filled version (and DLC, but seriously, me no likey limited activations). And here was Steam with the DLC and no DRM. Bugger. <$10 for FC2 with the DLC and no limited activations would have been worth it. Ah well.

Pretend that "Cucumis melo reticulatus" is a legal term when speaking with your lawyer friends. If any claim to know of it, collect $200.

Definition 1 works

Dictionary.com provides a less specific definition (still definition 1)

I wouldn't use it in the way weclock did, but I just felt the need to point this out :p

Which ones? I can't imagine why PR would be region-locked for deals that work for North American customers.

I'm pretty sure they're talking about all of the dictionary links.
So what do you think about Left 4 Dead for $5.74? (for me unfortunately euros) Is it worth it, when there is already L4D2? Dunno if people will still play the first one...
Ghostbusters has had its regional restrictions put back in place so no Ghostbusters for €9.99 for anyone outside the US. Thanks Atari.

L4D isn't a "classic" in any way, so I don't see any reason to pick up the original. Because L4D2 is superior, you should either purchase it or ignore the series altogether.
