wy4786: fuuu.. been trying to get a copy of DoW since forever. Is it possible to buy via a proxy and dl it?

metalkidz: What proxy or any methods to buy games on GoGamer outside US?
You know that this proxy stuff is illegal -> tax evasion.

The only time I used a proxy for such a thing was when there was Burnout Paradise for free at the EA store. But yes, setting up a proxy into the browser (not a proxy website, but a real proxy IP in the browser options) usually should work.

That would depend on whether your country stipulates you have to pay taxes on online sales or not. Japan for one only requires tax be paid for online sales if the company is based in Japan.

For Europeans, it's 24.95€ (almost 34 USD)

Al1: At the price it is on GG, get it. It's the battles from Total War with some nice RPG-lite elements and medieval fantasy stuff thrown in.

Navagon: For that price it's an absolute steal.
Thanks for the info, guys. Is the game relatively free of major bugs?

I never played the Total War games and I kind of suck at RTS, so I will probably look up some gameplay videos to see if it's something I'd be able to handle.

I still hesitate a bit, just because I'm working on the gigantic Elven Legacy collection right now. Experience tells me that if I buy it now, they'll probably put the complete series up for sale for $5 before I get around to playing it.

Any thoughts on the Saxon expansion?

You did notice that game just got new expansion called 'The Druids'.
Wales is the beautiful and fiercely independent realm of tribal lords, wizards – and dragons that slumber beneath the roots of Snowdonia. Its new leader, King Ryons used to be the most dangerous warlord of the land. He wants to restore the power of the Old Faith in Britannia and he always reaches his goals.

Bow down before the gods of the ancients. Fear the creatures coming back from the twilight and respect the ways of the druids. And follow the warrior-king, who will conquer Britannia.

Main Features:

• This expansion is the twin of King Arthur - The Saxons, offering a wide array of new content (i.e. beasts and other monsters) as well as a brand new campaign.
• The economic system of the base game redesigned for a totally new campaign structure, where the player will be able to play in sandbox mode being the champion of the Old Faith. The expansion have a complex diplomatic system, campaign winning conditions that can be set by the player and an absolutely free, non-story-based gameplay.
• Unique diplomatic and battle quests.
• 30+ hours gameplay
• 1 new campaigns (Welsh Kingdom)
• Free, sandbox gameplay. The Objectives are strategic goals, not a compulsory plot
• Complex diplomacy system: All the kings and rulers are involved including the Marauders, The Outlaws, the Sidhe courts, the high priests and some of the noble ladies as well.
• Adjustable options for the campaigns: the player can set the level of the AI aggression or the importance of magic, etc.
• 4 new, unique heroes
• 3 new, special units
• 3 new units
• 10 new hero skills
• 2 new unit skills
• 20+ unique artifacts (including 10 sets)
• 20+ unique diplomacy and battle quests
That's quite lot for 9.95€ expansion. I too am contemplating wether to buy it now or wait for complete version. Like you I have mountain of games waiting to be played (one of them happens to be the Elven Legacy collection :-p) and not enough free time to play them as is.

I should note GoGamer offers boxed copies only, so a proxy won't do you any good -- they don't ship outside the US.
Europa Universalis III Complete and Europa Universalis III: Heir to the Throne are 80% off on Steam.

Bugs, yeah, I was able to complete it, no problem. The only thing I did have a problem with was finding out too late how to do things. For instance, you don't even have the ability to control recruitment early on in the game and didn't realise that I suddenly could until I was left with some pretty busted up looking units.

Also there's a lot regarding spells and other character upgrades along with the benefits of the castles I wasn't immediately aware of. In short I should have been more aware of the options I had available each turn.

Just be aware that it's not the easiest of games and in this case there's no shame in going for Beginner difficulty if you're not so good at these kinds of games.
Steam is having a Europa Universalis III sale. 80% off both Complete and Heir to the Throne.
