Uniloc is an Internet activation type DRM. Sega claims that you get 5 installs. The DRM itself 'hides' something on your computer in a rootkit like way. SecuROM did something like this with a null string folder or item or something.
Rootkit Revealer came along, and they had to update their null string folder to have another folder warning you that deleting this folder would hose SecuROM.
The folks at Tages have taken a stand against this method (according to wikipedia).
Also interesting is that they are suing Microsoft for patent violation. They seem to have lost on appeal, though.
edit: At some point, Sega promises to remove the DRM.
