carnival73: There's seems to be an under the radar weekend sale on Numen (or else they're getting ready to get rid of it) at Steam for $2.

Numen is an RPG with an open world like Gothic but plays more like Diablo.
I am not sure when I will get to play it, but I picked it up for $2. Even a few hours of entertainment would be worth that much money.
avatar
Clagg: There's a darned good reason why it's free. You can't charge money for a turd.
Yes you can as long as customers don't know it's a turd.
You have a point. After you've bought it you're kinda stuck!

Balthier: Oh My God!
And I'll say again, Oh My God! This is an amazing deal!!! Don't miss out guys!
I'll... I'll... wish it lasts a long time... so I'll buy this. Too bad the newest game isn't included (that would meant it was too awesome!).
Just grabbed these! Excellent set of games to enjoy, especially if you are a fan of more retro arcade like titles. Wish this deal was getting more exposure overall compared to others. Can't beat it

_ViE_ChampioN_: I've got to agree; Youtube videos have sold me on the bundle. I'm surprised this deal isn't getting more love in this thread.
I saw 'Puppy Games' and assumed it was lame and didn't read further haha. Bought it now, thanks. :)

The email I got says, "You may share your games with your friends and family. We want you to share your enjoyment just as we would want to share it with our friends too." Interesting.

Should note Revenge of the Titans is half off ($12) while in beta.

Sooooo, are they DRM free?

trusteft: Sooooo, are they DRM free?
It just requires online registration to unlock them. Basically you load up the game, enter the email address you purchased the games with to unlock it, and play to your hearts content. So it does require that, but nothing else really.

For $5 though, they are a steal. What I really found interesting is the demo for Ultratron did not do it justice. I am not sure if unlocking the game made it more crazy, or if it has something to do with the pickups during battle, but goodness there were a lot more enemies this time around. I died pretty quickly, but loving it.

Looks like a decent tower defence game.

Sunk a few hours into this today, and it's not bad at all (once you figure out the interface). Remember to rest to progress time if there are no other NPC interactions available though (took me a while to figure that out)!

nmillar: PC World seem to be selling off alot of old stock at the moment (UK - in store only). Lots of games from 47p to £4.97, and they're all part of a buy 2 get 1 free offer. I picked up the following for a total of £10.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY
Evolution GT
Far Cry
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Might and Magic IX
Thief: Deadly Shadows

Virama: I was jealous until I saw the ONE flawed game and lolled. That game is SO BAD. Easily the worst one in the entire series. Coffee coaster game.
I must agree - I didn't buy a game on release day for years after that one.

SO true. I was salivating for this one - always been a big fan of M&M - quite enjoyed the Mandate of Heaven but the ninth one was truly atrocious. *shudders*

Thanks for the warning. Now that manuals are all in PDF format and a pain in the eyes to read, I usually only go running for them if I'm really stumped. That probably would've taken a good hour to figure out.

I keep hearing that VII is the only really good one and it's the only one I can't find anywhere.

I agree, I'd say it's even worth just the excitement of installation and hoping that it works.

It works on my seven year old Compaq Presario, so nobody should have a hard time with it. =D

@ Carnival73:

TBH I reckon the World of Xeen (available here at GoG under the Might and Magic pack) is the best, even if the interface is clunky. The graphics are simply beautiful - when they started going for pseudo-3d, the graphics went to hell and then some. But the storyline and gameplay were still good until IX which killed it, period.

So the World of Xeen is a good one too? I've seen that pack here but the one that looks the most complex has cheesey actors digitally pasted all throughout it.

I have found one fall back to Game Giveaway of the Day and that is if you uninstall your goodies, you will never be able to install them again once time has expired for the promotion.

So they're kinda like a full version demo until your computer crashes.

O_O

You are SERIOUSLY missing out then. World of Xeen is basically M&M 4+5 put together into one huge world = 6. It has the most enthralling world ever. If I knew enough code it would be an instant no-brainer pick to mod. And oh god, to fix up the interface... But yes, seriously, I would happily pay $50 - 100 for a HD remake (just LEAVE the gameplay alone) upgrade the sprites, keep them colourful and vibrant... Honestly, get it and play it. You'll be sucked in no problem.
