Gamersgate also has similar promo.
Indie Games are on sale at D2D right now. You can have

All that for 11.50 BP. Sounds not too bad..
17.50 in dollars. This offer interests me but I've never bought from them before. what are they like? Do you download the game and it's yours a la GOG or do you have to have some sort of software running a la Steam?

I'm not deep into it either.. Up to now I bought 3 games from them which were so cheap I couldn't resist... So far I have no problems with D2D. You buy the game. It's in 'Your Account' then and you can download it as many times as you want with the help of a downloader. You don't have to run any sort of steam-like software to play the games. So it's not like Steam. On the other hand: Not all games come DRM-free. So it's not like GOG either.
Batman: Arkham Asylum -- $48 (consoles), $40 (PC)

There is no client for D2D. Basic functionality is similar to GOG in that you download standalone installers from the list of purchased games on your account, but many if not most games require you to authenticate online with D2D once at install time. Many also carry publisher-mandated DRM, per the norm. Some titles are available DRM-free.
By the way, if I'm not mistaken, Zeno Clash still requires Steam despite being sold through D2D.

I got Steam, so it's not much of an issue. I'm thinking it over now, since Zeno clash and Defense grid are the real games I like on the offer, but in the end if those two are the only ones i might end up enjoying, it's like spending $8.75 for each and getting the rest of unlikely to be played games for free.
Eh, i really shouldn't. I should save up for games I really like. I'll be getting myself a couple from here soon after mid august. Best to buy a few games I'll play than a bunch I'm not likely to.
Spiderweb Software is now selling the ENTIRE Genforge saga on one CD for $75.00 American. For an extra $25.00 American you will get all the Geneforge Saga hintbooks as well..

I want to play Zeno Clash. With Steam, do I need internet access to play? I don't have it on the PC I'm on most of the time. The last Steam game I played was HL2. Loooong time ago. Can't say I remember how it worked.
I believe that after the initial install you need to activate the game online once using steam and then after that are able to play it in steams offline mode.

Assuming Steam's application files are updated. If there's been an update since he was last online, he (she?) won't be able to play the game.

TYFT. I bought the bundle and installed it at my uni library (they have free wireless). Saved me a bunch of headaches.
