Yes I believe you are right. I was using outdated information. Steamworks now makes it possible to install dlc for any steam game.
BioShock is weekend deal on D2D it is %50 off just $9.99. I got one extra copy of it on Steam to gift but no one wants to trade it. :(
Is Dead Space worth 10 bucks? I've heard good and bad things about it, but for $10, I'm mildly interested.

Good game. Bad port. I quite enjoyed it but found it frustrating also.
I tried Dead Space on my brother's computer and suffered severe mouse lag, which made it extremely difficult to aim properly. I later read that that happens if you have VSync on, though there's also a faction of idiots who claims that the mouse lag is intentional to make it feel more like the console version or something, and that the game wouldn't be scary enough if it controlled properly.

More than worth it. Didn't find it a bad port at all or frustrating in the least. :P

I wish people would admit it's purely down to preference. I really liked it while lots of others were claiming it was broken. :P Feels realistic. You have to consider you're wearing an extremely heavy suit and your weapons are pretty damn heavy too. If it played like every other shooter it would be ridiculous. That's my feeling anyway.
PS. It's also $10 on EA Store with the code twdeadspace10buxoff. Downloadable only unfortunately.

I can zoom the mouse around in circles as fast as I want, just like I can in Unreal Tournament - in fact, at the highest sensitivity, it's too fast for me to handle. It just takes 300-500ms before Isaac realizes that I want him to turn his head (which, by the way, is a delay not present anywhere else in the control scheme). That's not an attempt at realism, it's input latency. I had the exact same problem in Aquanox, which eventually forced me to give up on the game because I couldn't kill that damn turtle inside the time limit.
Moreover, if it's true that it goes away if you disable VSync (it's a little late for me to check), then it's definitely not intended.

Disabling V-sync in deadspace makes a world of difference with how much the mouse lags. Its not perfect with it disabled but its tolerable and after an hour or 2 playing you don't notice it anymore. The game is good, nothing new in terms of setting but it a high quality game(excluding controls of course).

Oh haha well that might explain it, cause I never use V-Sync anyway. :)

Thank you for confirming that for me. I am willing to buy the game for a modest price if I don't have to put up with butchered controls. Not that I really want to put up with screen tearing either, but I'll live.

Out of curiosity, were you defending the minor acceleration and deceleration that is applied to mouse movement within the game?
That didn't bother me. What bothered me was the mouse doing nothing at all. :p
Not exactly the right thread for it, but counts as a gaming deal anyway.
I just bought mahself a new video card and it came with a free copy of Just Cause 2. Unfortunately, I already bought JC2 a month or two back (amazing game, well worth the 20 bucks I am trying to milk out of you guys :p).
So I did a quick search of savygamer and the most recent sale was ~$20 USD.
So going to offer a trade (which acts as a REALLY good deal for the game anyway, thus making it appropriate for the thread)
If someone wants to trade Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena on Steam for Just Cause 2 (which requires Steam), give me a shout on Steam (nick is Gundato).
Obviously this deal favors Americans (since Steam hates all you squiggly money peoples), but whatever.
So, to summarize:
Just Cause 2 for $19.99. Just message Gundato on Steam. First noticed, first served.

lackoo1111: Impulse
CID The Dummy $3.49
Out of the Park 11 $19.99
Skyscraper Simulator $16.34 ( Impulse::Reactor )
Lost Planet Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition $9.99 Worldwide (Excluding Japan/Korea)
Tom Clancy's EndWar $9.99 North America (US and Canada) , TAGES - 3 Activation Limit

I really like Impulse service however i am wondering if they will ever have any decent deals Aussies can actually buy (all the regional pricing/locking crap).

Yes it is. It's a very good survival horror and by that you should know what to expect.

Yeah, I guess it was the former. I never noticed any massive delays like that.
