metalkidz: Yeah, i unlocked an AMD X3 720 @2.8Ghz to a Phenom 2 X4 20 @3.4Ghz but still very few fps improvement gained. So i think to run smooth PCSX2 (PS2 emulator) you should have at least a Core i5 k series Sandy or Ivy Bridge with maximum OC you can get from them. I see every owners of i5 2nd gen and 3rd gen could easily get 4.5Ghz with little bump voltage and hsf air.
/ps: With all these gaming sales, i always broke :(, still need earning much more to have chance touch to shiny combo 2500k + Z77 :((
It is also dependant on gfx card. Not that even GTX660 would help me, as I have Pentium Dual Core E6500 @2.93. Still, I managed to play ff x with some hickups, nothing too bad.
Anyway, I got ps2 few weeks ago, to save myself from suffering in emulator. Now if only gamepads weren't packed for 1000 years as they are loosing contact...
