The original was great but also had some serious design and game balance flaws,
since you ARE constantly underpowered and one wrong decision got you stuck in cover for 30 mins while supposed to take out those nasty rocketshooting card guards (that blow you off the path with a single hit) with you super weak knife, since it´s the only lasting long range weapon.
Bossfights and some other really annoying enemies took their share, too. It all get a lot easer once you got the freezing gun. Though, I never managed to defeat the Jabberwocky. I always needed to cheat for that section. And J&R was always a welcome relaxation... unless some other foe did not try to snipe you off mid-air occasinally, that is.
Quite often close to unfair IMHO. But the controls were tight and the setting marvellous, if you can look past the low-res textures.
Still one of my most favs until today.

No he's not, it's considered one of the better games of that era and it is quiet rare. Before the second one was released with the bonus of the first for new purchasers (initially, that promotion is over now) it was considerably more than that, used.

I got it, seems to be DRM free, copied the whole thing straight from the laptop I downloaded it to over to my desktop without issue.
