the vault opening in fallout 3. so much better when you can actually look around and move through it at will.
another wow moment yesterday occured during counterstrike.
i threw a nade towards a corner presuming there would be people there.
It bounced on the corner of an oil barrel and landed behind the edge of a building out of my sight. I heard the explosion and 4 people came flying around the corner.
I played CSS for 5 years now and that was a totally awesome moment which cracked me up totally. To bad i didn't capture it.

Aliasalpha: Ooh the Chaos Gate music is awesome, it'll be a great bonus when GOG get the game... Which will be when?

Have you ever tried to find names of the tracks of that soundtrack? ;]
The haunted hotel in Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines...

No but thats okay, I don't mind them being named Track 01, Track 02, Track 03 etc if thats all that's holding the game up...
All I can guess is that it was written by a fan of Carl Orff. Ooh according to mobygames, the music (and presumably soundtrack) was done by a guy called Jim Crew

I've asked because some of us (fans) did and it seems that IP rights in case of Chaos Gate are a completely different matter and even Jim Crew is said to have said that he don't know anything (could be an urban legend though).
So what I wanted to point out when I've asked you that question was that "if" is a much more reasonable question. Sadly.
Deus Ex: That game has way too many great moments, in fact the entire game is a great wow moment for me.
Call Of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth: The hotel chase, simply pulse pounding greatness.
Silent Hill 2: Room 312
Hitman: Blood Money: the mission, 'A Murder of Crows'. Something about carrying out stealthy assassinations in the middle of mardi gras was awesome to me. Also I really loved the suburban feeling of a 'A New Life'
Diablo 2: The ending cinematic gave me goosebumps.
Prince of Persia Warrior Within: Finding out how the sands were truly made.
Beyond Good and Evil: The entire game.
I think that's all I can think of for now.

Yeah there's always a problem with the best games isnt there? The mobygames link does have the choir members, one of them MIGHT have some info
Wing Commander 3 - what happens to Hobes
Wing Commander 4 - Tolwyn and his plan
Freespace 1 ending
Blader Runner - whole game :D
Few memorable from games for me:
Homeworld 1: Launching the Motership at beginning of first mission & ending credits. I liked song from credits so much that even downloaded lyrics, learn it and song it myself :-).
Fallout 1&2: intro's and in-game short fmv sequences
Outcast: nice intro, awasome orchestral music and realistic sounds
Freespace 2 :awasome intro and battles between capital ships and last mission in campaign
NFS Porsche: short movie after completing Classic Era in career
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl: whole game :-)
Unreal: music and outdoor levels
Far Cry: first sight of beach efter exiting bunker
Ace Combat 2: awasome music and mission with shooting down cruise missile

Probably Return to the Cathedral in Thief 1. I think it's the most terrifying experience I've ever had in a game.

DogGhost: For me the most exciting moment was escape from a hotel in Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of earth - very intensive experience :D
avatar
Wraith: That was intense, but I think the battle with the Shoggoth or Dagon beat it out by a longshot.

That game killed me. It honestly could have been one of the 5 best horror games of all time if they had playtested it better. The difficulty level was outrageous. Plus the bugs. Oh, the bugs.
And yeah, the hotel escape was more or less exactly how I pictured it when reading "Shadow over Innismouth" (sp?). Brilliant videogaming sequence.

Rohan15: Playing Morrowind. Loved it at first, and then noticed there were no hotkeys and the combat was skill based. I had 100 in dagger and STILL didn't ever hit much!!! Pissed me off/

There were hotkeys..... I used them all the time the number keys. Daggers connect consistently but are weak weapons. Most dagger specialists are thieves. Thieves shouldn't be fighting openly much in the first place. They should be achieving their goals by thieving. It's a role-playing game. If you use a dagger type character, use an enchanted dagger and later a glass jinkblade. It paralyzes the opponent. Then switch to another blade and finish them off.

SHODAN
Every time I boot up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I find something new that blows my mind. Last time it was one dog eating another after I shot it. There's always some new A.I. behavior that amazes me.

1) Console version, thinking of getting pc due to mods.
2) I was a thief. In fact, my thief was able to beat the Morag Tong, Thieves Guild, and oddly the Temple faction with no problems.
3) I KNOW how to play the game.
